Yeah, keep in mind the upgrade to 8.0 includes a new dongle, that overwrites and destroys the old dongle. Even with a hard drive image, there is no going back on the dongle.

PS: you can get a good paper for the Falcon, just make sure it is rated for eco-sol printing. May cost a few pennies more, but it will be cleaner and protect those expensive heads. Try www.sihlusa.com and check theie printable paper and find a dealer near you.

Be careful of the dirt and dust paper can leave in your printer. I wouldn't do it. So what are you saving your customer? A 3x6 (18 sq ft) banner costs $5.00 in banner material, and probably $2.00 in paper material. Is it worth saving $3 out of a sales price of $70-150 to risk the print heads...

Try choosing "Graphtec CE3000" as the plotter type. The DesignTec is SSK's rebranded version of the Graphtec.

If you already have Flexi Pro, just check to see if they have the drivers for the HP. Why learn another program?

How about using a surge protector? I'm starting to look into that route. I used to unplug my printer when not in use, but when I plug it back in, even with the switch off, I hear a "spark" as the plug connects to the outlet. So something in there is using electic even when the switch is off...
