With SignCut or EasyCut Studio I could not use My Summa USB neither, only worked with serial adapter.

You are sending the job to your Laser Printer. It wont work. Do not worry abuut your version of SignCut. It is good enough to run your Cutter. As long as you sending the job to the port where it is actually connected.

I would still use 7.6 If it would run on 64 bit system. It is not abut the speed. Never felt if it was slow.
