  1. GS6000 vs. the new Seiko W-64s

This is a huge issue with it, in our experience. It can't handle heavy material. On our JV33 we run our banner material at 45/45/50 all day long without a single head strike, we can't run a foot of banner material without getting head strikes, we've tried lowering the heat "dangerously" low down...
  2. Onyx profiling problem

oh, and don't forget to turn off all color management before you print it. You'll have to actually take the swatch file into Preflight to do that and resubmit it from there...
  3. Epson GS6000

Do a search for my name and GS6000, there's a mountain of info there too... I'd give you mine for free but then you'd come back and kill me and my family and my friends. Some people have zero problems with them ever, others have nothing but problems and can hardly get a sellable print off of...
  4. Celtec (PVC) vs HUD as sign background

I'd use HDU for the background too. PVC's expansion and contraction rate is significantly more than HDU, I'd be scared the first time the temperature goes up and down all of your attached HUD elements will be on the ground. Plus, a sign that size made of what I'd assume will be somewhat thick...
  5. Onyx profiling problem

You still have to select the appropriate media for the printer and tell it to print, Media Manager only submits the swatch file to the rip queue, it doesn't automatically print it. IF you're doing that and it's still not printing, I'm not sure, that was just the first thing that popped into my...
  6. Dark grey glow around white drop shadow?

Looks like a profile/color management problem. In your RIP, do you have an option somewhere to enable black point compensation? If so, make sure it is enabled. Also, are your input profiles correct in the RIP and in your file?
  7. transit

wrap it solid red and make a big black handle for the roof out of carved styrofoam coated with Magic Smooth?
  8. outdoor wall wrap ?

Personally I wouldn't want to use one where the adhesive "migrates into the aggregate". With the 3M material, it really stays put because when you heat it up (really hot - 1000 deg.) and roll it into the texture, as it cools it hardens to that shape and that's really what holds it in place...
  9. outdoor wall wrap ?

Yup. used both 3M's and MacTac's textured surface vinyls. Works well. We've had jobs up on both materials for over a year without any signs of failure. be sure when you quote this that you remember you need to purchase a fairly expensive installation kit (includes a heat gun and several...
  10. What kind of printing is this, and who does it?

traditional offset 1-color on red stock? Quantity is probably too low though... Does it have to be black on red or can it be a 4-color print on white (i.e. inkjet print the whole thing, but the backside would be white instead of red)?
  11. Branded EZ-Up tent.

The only place I know of that does them is Creative Banner Assemblies.
  12. Installing alumalite 14' high using 6x6 posts?

?? We buy 6x6x20s and 6x6x24s from time to time, never had an issue getting them.
  13. Installing alumalite 14' high using 6x6 posts?

If you can hire an electrical contractor to go out there and set two utility poles, that would be ideal. If of course you can actually get an auger truck out there...
  14. In need of Health discipline...where do I go?

You're probably like me in that you need someone to help push you along a little bit. Find a CrossFit gym in your area and join it. Done. I promise. Seriously. You will either die or be in the best shape of your life. www.crossfit.com
  15. Installing alumalite 14' high using 6x6 posts?

It's possible. Getting to the site is another story altogether, but physically, the installation is possible. Don't just sink 2 20 footers and think they're going to stand up though, this will need some fairly substantial bracing from all 4 sides to remain vertical. You'll need to set your main...
  16. AVERY EZ RS bubbles after install ?

Sounds like either you didn't squeegee with enough pressure or you didn't post-heat, or both. RS has a pretty low initial tack, so if you don't work it down hard and heat it afterwards I could see air flowing through the channels and pocketing or bubbling in places.
  17. How to cut 20,000 reflective letters?

Pat, send me the specs, I'll give you a price on the project, we love jobs like that over here...
  18. Solvents

We actually go through about 4-5 sets a month on ours (well, not black, orange and green, they last longer since they're not used as heavily), so the savings of an aftermarket ink is a BIG deal to us, really big in fact. But the only way I'd make the switch is if the savings came with prolonged...
  19. Solvents

Not to bash your product, but the OEM specs are not that great as-is, durability is less than amazing. Saving money is one thing, but I doubt a lot of people are going to be willing to put non-OEM ink in their machine and risk ruining rather expensive heads unless there's some greater payoff...
  20. Solvents

Where's the orange and green ink? I only see CMYKcm.
