Welcome to the group. If you are using clear tape it will cause static that can be troublesome. If paper start on one end and get it started with the application tape on the table and the vinyl then squeegee it down. Or get a "Big Squeegee" and watch the vedio that comes with it. The merchant is...
YES! Or someone else will buy it. You may be surprised what you will be doing with it. You will do indoor work or short term jobs. I would buy it for that.
Nick, don't let all the BS get to you. There aren't very many cutters that are made in the USA. I had a Roland PC1000 for 14 years. It was the cheapest at the time retail $4,700. I paid $3,400. Computers were $2,500 for anything that would work with a 40 MEG hard drive. It does not even compare...
The "kit" from eco plus to the Ultra ink was a set of Ultra inks and a new rubber wiper.Install new wiper, flush the old ink and did an ink fill. That was it. The cost covered the ink and the wiper was free. The color is better and so is the durability. I changed no profiles.
Text is a vector in Corel. I had a PNC1000 and used a 9 pin serial connection and cut from Corel and or Signlab with no problem. Today I would connect parallel and use a cut program such as Signlab.
I would stay with Signlab. They have a good software and support system. Upgrade the their print version. I personally would not buy Flexi....or upgrade. Signlab is a top shelf program.
When you do a nozzle check does it print to the edges? It should default to about 1/2" on each end. If it does then it is not in the printer but Flexi. Check in the production manager for the x y positions. That may be the problem. There is an adjustment done in the service mode to "fine tune"...
Welcome to the group. Have you tried the profiles in Flexi? You could go the the web sites of the material you are printing and see if they have profiles.
Try these. This ink is compatible, plug n' play with Mutoh Ultra inks. No profile change needed. I did try a set of Lava inks when Mutoh printed with the Plus inks with no problem. http://cabondink.com/products_cartridge_eco_ultra.php
I use a gloss vinyl profile (3551) for gloss banners and a matte vinyl profile for matte banners.Turn the heaters down if you are getting banding. Try a printing a sample bi-directional and uni-direction to see if the inks are drying too quickly.
