  1. scrolling thru text

Rick, It's kind of a quirky thing. I've found if I have my arrow function selected from the left vertical section, select the text, then go to DesignCentral and select the "A", this shows me the font name in the DC top window. If your text has the selection dots along its bottom and its top...
  2. Mac vs. PC

Ken, What Derf wrote is true. You're just needing an emulation software package. He mentioned Virtual PC which is perfect for what you're talking about. Just remember what he said about the ram; Doing the VPC thing is (I'm sure you've heard) like running one computer within another. Resource...
  3. Production Manager won't setup correctly

I'm with Jayhawk. They tell me the only stupid question is the one you don't ask, so...I'm asking. Did you install your profiles? You mentioned something that sounded like you didn't have any choices come up when you tried to select a plotter; that would usually indicate the driver or profile...
  4. Magnetic Plotters?

Tech, Appreciate your info. Sorry I'm just getting back to you. Pretty busy. I opted to create the shape I wanted out of vinyl and left the mag square with rounded corners. On a white van, the white mag blends right in, especially with the amount of contrast I've got going with my color...
  5. Flexi Production Mgr. Stalled Printing!

Now that you mention that, I do seem to recall the Sign Warehouse tech guys telling me I couldn't have a print job running (with a percentage number showing) and be working on another piece of artwork, and they also advised me not to open another program (make it active) while it was printing...
  6. Flexi Production Mgr. Stalled Printing!

Steve, I never had the printer do what yours has done, but I have had the plotter (Panther 30") do that. A LOT!!! In the middle of the cut, it just stopped, but Flexi was still showing a percentage incomplete. Now, again not having run into the problem with the printer I can't say for sure...
  7. Magnetic Plotters?

I run a Panther 30". Should that be strong enough?
  8. Magnetic Plotters?

Will, That's what I'd do as well. I'm just after a nice flowing shape that I know the plotter would do a better job cutting than I would by hand; as opposed to just a rectangle with rounded corners. Thanks for the input, keep it coming. George
  9. Magnetic Plotters?

Having never tried this or been approached with the idea, can a plotter cut magnetic material? Also, if so, is my 45 degree blade going to be adequate or should I buy a 60? Do you just look to score the material or completely separate it? I've not delved into thicker materials as of yet. My...
  10. Flexi, LXI....what is the difference?

Or the lack thereof. WHO SAID THAT? Did I say that? No, surely not.:Big Laugh Truth be told, their "support" leaves ALOT to be desired. The company has it's strengths but support is not one of them. That's my experience, anyway. George
  11. Many thanks to Fred and Connie Weiss!

:Welcome: You've got a good last name for the industry, huh? Welcome from Kansas. Yeah, that's right. The land now scientifically proven to be flatter than a pancake. Look forward to your posts. George
  12. Cut and Paste help Flexi 7.5

Mike, If I'm understaning you correctly, both of the cliparts you want to cut are to be cut from the same color of vinyl. Is that right? If so, then you can highlight both cliparts and assign them the same color from the swatch bar at the bottom of flexi. Then the software will "see" both of...
  13. Whining Panther

The whining noises are completely random and in fact seldom. I've simply chalked it up to a quirk of the machine. I recall the machine my former boss had in his shop (identical to the one I'm running now) made some of the same sounds. Regarding tracking, in another thread I describe how I...
  14. HELP!! FlexiSignPro 7.6 suddenly...

Won't import EPS files. They were working fine earlier and I was able to import them at will. Now the file type EPS won't even show up in the list of choices. Need assistance ASAP!! Thanks ahead of time, George
  15. New to all this, need some help please?

Like Fred mentioned, "Step and Repeat" makes the world a beautiful place. Again, as he mentioned, learn the Distribute functions as well as Align. I've been right where you are now; done exactly the same things and wondered why it wasn't working properly. Fortunately for you, you found this...
  16. Adobe filters in Flexi

No. I'm sorry. I thought I mentioned that earlier. I just have the Elements 2.0 program. That's what started me wondering if the Elements plugins were/were not compatible with Flexi. Still haven't heard from Scanvec Amiable on this. George
  17. Adobe filters in Flexi

Techman, I just tried it with the magic wand with the same result. plugin error: -30900. Incidentally, I haven't had to activate the magic wand to use the effects before. They've always worked for me with just the mouse/arrow. I'm still waiting to hear from Scanvec Amiable on the error...
  18. Adobe filters in Flexi

I uninstalled Elements and went back to Flexi. Again, under the filters pull down, there were no Adobe filters available (it said "none"). I reinstalled Elements and they showed up again in Flexi with the same error message occuring. I am beginning to think that while the names may be the same...
  19. Adobe filters in Flexi

Looks promising... I went to check the preferences and sure enough Elements hade inserted itself. Now, the question is where in Flexi do I tell it to look because I set preferences for the Flexi Plugins file and went to Flexi, selected Bitmaps and filters, then Adobe and it said "none". I'm...
  20. Whining Panther

My 30" Panther cutter makes a whining noise periodically when it's running vinyl back and forth. It does it probably 5-10% of the time. Is this something I should be concerned with or do all plotter/cutters do this to a limited degree? Other than that, it has functioned flawlessly. Ideas?
