  5. Too many sign shops!!

When I walk into a shop I can tell weather they are operating in the black or not. This economy has been hard on all of us, but there have been thousands of shops that have been weeded out....thank goodness! You might think that I wouldn't care what shops come and go, but its actually scary for...
  6. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

The folks at Merritt are good about communicating to us on the forum, I'm sure we will get some feedback sooner or later. I wold also like to know what experiences folks have had with Caldera and l25500 and Flexi as well.
  7. New HP Designjet L25500 Series Printers

Yes, I have fooled around with a machine, but that's way different than running one in production. My question pertains to what runs well (or doesn't) on these new machines and what are the first impressions....in production......as that helps weigh whether or not I should buy one.

You can get almost any machine with XP pro installed, just not at Best Buy or the like. If you really want to run 7 just make sure you load 32 bit version for maximum compatibility to your old programs. Sound like your tech is onto something (not the pipe) and it cant hurt to eliminate a variable.
  14. yellow not printing correctly

fill the caps as the disway is running. Make sure the pumps are functioning correctly. Lower the carriage into the lowest position and make sure there is no debris on the bottom of the printheads. Check the carts to make sure you have at least 25% ink in every cart then perform a fill up ink as...
  15. yellow not printing correctly

Ok, can you fill the caps and run the pumps to see if the pumps are working normally?
  16. Ink left in cartridges

Depends on the Make and Model of printer
  17. Waddduppp

Give your tech a call. He is familiar with your situation and wants to keep you as a customer. He has a vested interest in helping you....just be nice to him..or her.
  18. Ink left in cartridges

I have seen people recreate their inklines with fish tank tubing. Damaging your machine is a somewhat relative thing.......relative to how good you are at fixing it. Mosh sounds like he can fix machines with bailing twine and used shotgun shells. Not everyone is so mechanically inclined. The...
  19. yellow not printing correctly

Sounds like there could be an issue with a clog in the line to the pump from the cap as well. Basically what you are dealing with is the waste ink system is not functioning properly, whether that is the cap or the pump is hard to determine from what you described. If you go on holiday make sure...
  20. Ink left in cartridges

Yes ....you are correct, it is a very bad idea, but if someone wants the info....... BTW it may not work that way on all firmware versions. Any method of defeating the ink end flag or chip could result in a deprimed ink line and head. If you are comfortable with fixing this situation, or if you...
