We are running a HP Latex 570 with Postershop 21. Years ago when we started with Postershop 6 and our HP Designjet 5500, there was the option to cut each sheet, say if you were printing a 36" roll, you could trim at 24" and have a stack of 24x36 prints trimmed to size right off the printer...
When calling out the technician, don't suggest fixes. Let him know the problem and then expect a resolution. Sounds like you told him the gantry had play, so that's what he diagnosed. No slop in the gantry so he was on his way. "Hey, my cut quality is awful." is a great place to start him off...
Would these do better being laser cut? We're also looking at a way to produce 300, 500 qty without needing to do the cleanup. This material is formaldehyde-free so it wouldn't release toxic fumes during laser-cutting. Just not sure who to farm out to in the Dallas, TX area and what it would cost.
Was that replacement under warranty? We're shopping this machine and will be using it for a similar flood white background application. What was the cost for the head replacement?
It's evident that some cut out square, while others near the edge of the board, sometimes move around during the cut.
Bits we tried:
The T00498 Upcut Router Bit is universal and meant for cutting soft plastic, hard wood, soft wood, and gator board. The bit has a 1” Cut Length.
The T00535 Upcut...
This is the eucaboard material from Home Depot, in 48x96" sheets: Eucaboard Info. We are simply cutting out 52 6" x 11" boards. Most do OK, but the last row sees some boards start to lose suction and move around. Then they aren't cut square. We have used Colex bits T00498 and T00535, and the...
Glad to hear they helped out. Our 2015 SharpCut 5x10 is one of my favorite pieces of equipment in the building. Haven't found them to be a nickel and dime outfit. This machine has been w workhorse, with the 3hp router. We stll have our originally oscillating knife with quite some miles on it...
Hi Troy, thanks for weighing in. I'd not heard of Digitech before, but I saw really good feedback once my research started. I was updating our VP of Manufacturing when he told me he'd had a VM from you. I'm ready to start in person demos later this week, and Digitech is on my list. I'll contact...
The R1000 is definitely on the short list. We flew to Atlanta to demo the R2000 before the 1000 was announced. We ended up keeping the EFI at the time and buying an HP Latex 570 to complement it. It's been near flawless. It's limited by the lack of white ink, which the R1000 does have. The...
What did you end up deciding? Did you buy the printer? Our same machine has died and we're not reviving it. Are you happy with your used one, presuming you bought it?
ABCO is researching a replacement for one of our wide format printers that is no longer operational nor feasible to repair.
Our EFI H1625 LED UV hybrid roll/rigid printer is 1.65m/65" wide with CMYK plus two white channels, printing onto substrates up to 50mm/2" thick.
Pros: Print quality...
