  2. Basic mechanics of the HP Latex 800

Cutting sheets is not working with HP800. Well, cutting works, but the following print will at least smear in the curing unit, if it doesn't produce a head crash...
  3. Question does "preparing for long term storage" really work?

I'm not sure, flushing out the pigments is enough. For the tubing and dampers it works. With some heads, there is a storage solution inside, that needs to be flushed at installation. (Roland and Mimaki for example and I haven't seen such storage or maybe testing solution advertised) II was never...
  4. VG540 print head 2 stopped printing

If the cleaning pumps have never been replaced, they are highly likely over their 200000 cycles...
  5. Summa S160 Registration Marks Illustrator PC

To use OPOS CAM, the recognition of the marks is done on the PC by a software called "camera control" on the old S-Class cutters. On the actual S2 cutters, you'd need to run cutter control for mark recognition. You could install Winplot for cutting and use the Gosign Tools (Plugins) to create...
  6. Blade drops momentarily before cutting actual design

Sounds like blade initialisation, to me. This is done, for the cutter to have the blade in a defined direction. It's normally done, when you load media. Looks like flexi sends a init command with every job. Not sure for flexi, but most cutting software lets you customize this.
  7. Need Help Problem to load media hp latex 365

Check the OMAS function and the media sensor in the back.
  8. 700w alternatives ?

There is no alternative for the thin, opaque and stretchable latex white... The early HP 700/800 are a Royal PITA... I know, I service them. Have the enhancement kit installed and give it a chance.

  10. Roland BN-20 help - intermittent printing

Officially, you shouldn't need to adjust the capping position. There is a jig/tool to mount the cap mechanism correctly, but I have never used or seen it. It could also be the plastic part right of the cap, where it gets pushed by the head bracket. I would definitely check the capping...
  11. Roland BN-20 help - intermittent printing

Are you using original ink/parts? Sounds like the captop isn't making a good seal.
  12. What would cause Printing shadows

Nozzle test and printing direction would be helpful. One looks like bad adjustment or carriage crash, the other like printhead needs replacement.
  13. Roland VersaCamm VS-640i constantly running out of yellow ink

I had cases with crystallisation of the yellow ink. In this case I flushed the yellow ink line with cleaning solution, replaced the yellow cartridge and replaced the damper.
  14. Plotter Cutting Curves Jagged

I use a tooth brush with alcohol, where I shortened the bristlesl. Don't use a metal brush, as it will destroy the micro sprockets on the rollers. Take care not to spray alcohol into the bearing blocks. 36deg. Is standard for Summa/HP cutters. Offset is 0.43. RTFM as well...
  15. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

The Opos sensor is only lowered onto the medium during mark recognition.

    The pinch roller sensor.
  17. Problem with new cutting blade sp-540v

I had a case with a Roland, where the white plastic wheel right of the solenoid had a crack. This is a possibility in a oldtimer...
  18. HP 335 not seeing inks

The zip ties are only needed, when someone breaks of the original mechanism
  19. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

This sounds like the (optical) sensor is interrupted. I've seen it before. The head moves to the right, until it "bumps" into the home position. Then it starts moving to the left, waiting for the sensor to be interrupted by the pinch roller holders. If it's already interrupted at the home...
  20. Roland truevis vf2-640 leaking from print head

Do a "fill damper" on this head. If the problem comes back, the damper probably needs replacement. (There are different generations of dampers)
