This has been a problem for as long as I'm in business and before that. I remember my first boss yelling at people to get their sh!t together because other than the screen printed stuff, all signs were furnished by hand. As more and more agencies and other types of brokers came along, the...
Why are you not starting with black substrate ?? If you can't print white, I'd suggest using a rattle can of black and build your edges up til ya like the look. Then, print.
Not to be funny, but doesn't an expiration date mean you've kinda reached the limit ?? There must be a reason. I know you can try to squeak by and take a chance, but do you do it with food items ?? Sounds like your printer has been fed some bad ink and is constipated.
edit: nice stuff on...
Jim....... why did you use hdu on a sign like that ?? Nothing looks recessed. Also, why no reinforcement out around the edges if it is hdu ??
As for david, ya might wanna build your frame and instal it beforehand and I'd use 3 stringers, not just one.
In your opinion, you think it's better to have them sign a waiver, you've told them on something which will fail, then to refuse to do it half-a$$ ?? When you have disclaimers/waivers involved you are already admitting you'll be dong it for the money only and no one's safety. You are the...
We itemize everything. We have a sales tax exemption with just about everyone and almost never pay sales tax ahead of time.
In QB, there's a little tab at the end where you can make it taxable or non-taxable on the fly per item.
Lumping it all together means you would need to split it out if...
If you're afraid to charge for doing things because the customer doesn't wanna pay it, why opt for a half-baked method ??
Your 3mm panels will be so wavy, it'll look very wonky when finished, unless you put up a frame..... and even then, it should be at least 6mm.
Well, I tried to help, but avoiding certain questions..... just made it tough to help. Anyway, your 20 year old posts seemed to help, so go for it, I guess you figured it all out. Care to share your results/findings ??
Looks really good. Now, that ya have 3 of these under your belt, you'll know what to charge for the next one. There's not any job ya don't ever wanna do, except ones that don't pay enough for your services. Odds are, others will see this and your name will get around quickly.
As I mentioned, be sure that in a school you can use the type vinyl, ink and laminate of your choice. That's why paints are considered alright and much longer lasting.
As mentioned, you're using posts from 20 years ago in some cases and from hobbyists who are painting decoys........ not signs.
All paints (as in colors) have basically the same formula, but certain colors will have more pigment of pvc of 30% to 55%, while others will have more oils or drying...
What kinda sign shop do you have at the moment ?? According to your profile you have total ZERO experience in anything. Are these tote bags for you or some kinda customer ??
Well, if you don't dump the unused paint back into the can, it can only mean one other thing............ basically the paint is old. Not necessarily in the gallon can, but your little can. Every time you let paint out to dry in the cup or can, you take so much of the many driers outta the...
Not sure why you're using bulletin for lettering ?? Bulletins are pigmented higher for better hiding, but less flow. However, they dry faster which doesn't allow much time for flowing out, either.
Now, by taking paint out of a gallon can and going as you need it adding thinner, reducer...
