  1. Donations becoming a major problem...

I donate to whom I wish to donate to. I pick them. I've had many over the years and in my mind, they all paid off...... not in business, but with me & God. I never put my name on banners, shirts or cars about donating or everyone will be coming to me for freebie sh!t. I know what I did...
  2. CNC pricing for other sign shops?

Yeah, same here. Our guy charges $65 bucks for an hours worth of cutting.
  3. Discussion Help with pricing

Do you have a 63" printer, cutter, let alone laminator ?? If not, get a price farming them out and apply your markup. I'd look into someone with a flatbed printing setup.
  4. Job Preservation / Obfuscation?

I think you're using the wrong pronouns with that one.
  5. Job Preservation / Obfuscation?

Well, if there's too many chiefs and you feel smarter than the rest of them, perhaps it's time to take yourself outta the equation and find a worthwhile job where you'd be appreciated. It's one thing to whine about everything, but another thing if you know their job better than they do.
  6. Job Preservation / Obfuscation?

So, maybe then it would be a good idea for some of you to request a meeting, so things don't get overlooked down the road. It sounds like someone just wants a part in things, insterad of sitting on their thumbs outta the loop.
  7. Job Preservation / Obfuscation?

Understood, but we're only getting his point of view...... not the other guy or the company's. There's always both sides of the story and the OP is giving both sides. Now, let's either see the rule book or talk to a person higher up the ladder.
  8. Job Preservation / Obfuscation?

Isn't it better to follow the rules and policies of your company, than to just go off willy-nilly ?? The difference between insubordination and a team worker is kinda what you just frowned upon and made fun of. Perhaps, YOU could talk to your superiors along with the butt-hurt employee and...
  9. Hope this title is fitting.......................................................

Just lettered a 2024 Ford Pick Up Police Responder. It's a kinda dark metallic silver. I/we couldn't get tape to hold anywhere. We washed it down with alcohol before starting. Came in this morning and some of the lettering is already lifting. The only thing I can say I noticed was the paint...
  10. How do you trim vinyl when using foamboard

    That, right there.
  11. Need Help Abrasion, or is this vinyl failing? (3M 180/8519 on a boat)

Did you get paid ?? If so, tell him you will fix HIS mistakes for a price (fair to both parties), but only after he cleans up the boat. Be nice, but it sounds like a problem customer especially down the road.
  12. 52in Foot Shear

A saw would be less money and more convenient.
  13. Mock ups for Customer

I wouldn't trust those scaled drawings for anything other than a mock up, but to make the final files for fabrication/production, we always use the actual vehicle, once it's in our shop. Photos of the same vehicle from all angles is fine for preliminary needs.
  14. Sign Painting

Looks like gold leaf on the original. If so, use some good hiding latex primer and give it 2 coats. Then two top coats of the maroon. Then, gild your lettering.
  15. Question Wall-Mounted Locking Storage Cabinet for Vinyl Rolls

If you can't trust them with a shared space, how do you keep them from stealing customers and other sign related stuff ??
  16. Applying air egress vinyl to acrylic for external use? Bad or good?

Why ae you using acrylic for the job ?? Is it backlit ??
  17. Applying air egress vinyl to acrylic for external use? Bad or good?

What's the size of the finished product ??
  18. Produced graphics storage ideas

    Wash line and clothespins.
  19. Polypropolene Banner

While poly is waterproof and can withstand some outdoor conditions, it's not an outdoor banner material. It will tear, stretch and become useless, with the least bit wind. It is not at all recommended for outdoor use. It's more for interior banners.
  20. Question Wall-Mounted Locking Storage Cabinet for Vinyl Rolls

Do you share with another sign company ??
