  1. Mac vs. PC

I wonder the same thing. A while back I compared my less than stellar design station against some Photoshop benchmark figures from Macs I found online. And those dual G5'a really were not any faster, especially when you figure in the price. And I don't see where Macs have a software advantage...
  2. I Thought Mac's Were Supposed to Be Easy!

I couldn't of said it better myself :Big Laugh
  3. Cuts a line twice?

Something else to check, is whether or not you have strokes on the items you are cutting. I have found that those have caused me similar problems in the past, especially on artwork imported for Corel.
  4. I was told this was a font.......

I think that I have seen something like the Houston font on my computer at work, I'll look and let you know.
  5. Adobe Photoshop Question

Two things I can think of. You need to work with layers, if you can, copy the part of the image you want, create a new layer and paste it in, then turn off you original layer and see if it looks like you want it to in Flexi. Second, only psd and tif formats I belive support the...
  6. Software Title List

Have you looked at Inspire XP Pro? Here is a link to their site. Click me. I thought this software was cheaper than it was, I guess I remember when they were doing their initial promotion pricing.
  7. Now I'm the New Guy

Welcome. If you are wanting to get some sign software, you probably noticed the nice buy in too get with the big boys (Flexi, SignLab). Have you looked at Inspire XP Pro? Here is a link to their site. Its the old version of Inspire that Scanvec used to sell, it doesn't have the cutting edges...
  8. I think Flexi is mad at me

Steve - When it does the automatic save for you, does it overwrite your original file?? It would be nice if it made an alternate file that it saved it to, that way if you changed something, Flexi saved it, program crashed, then your originial file would still be there without the change...
  9. Tablets

Haven't had a problem yet, with my work one or my one at home (gosh I'm bad and ended up buying two). I used my work one for a little while in front of my 19" CRT monitors, but now its resting on my roll out keyboard tray. Never had a problem with it. At home, its sitting directly in front of...
  10. Tablets

Trevor - Did you check on one this morning??
  11. Tablets

512 levels of pressure, and yeah that Aldi's. They have the discount electronic item specials from time to time. Usually have something new in every week or two. You could always call and see if they will tell you if they have any, on this kind of stuff they only get a handful in at a time.
  12. Tablets

I woudn't think that very many people doing graphics work haven't thought at least once or twice about getting a tablet to work on. I for one have been wanting one for years, really wanting to pick up a Wacom, preferrably 6x8 or larger and those set you $150 easily. Well, doing our bi-monthly...
  13. I think Flexi is mad at me

Just tried to import a file into an open window and a pop up window said Never [OK] Then the program closed out. Anyone else have weird problems with Flexi???
  14. witch one would you buy SP-64X or JV3-75SP II

We currently run Flexi as well. I plan on at least trying out another rip, with the screenshots I have seen of Wasatch and Onyx, and from using Onyx to run our old Colorspan, I do think that we are missing out on a lot of features that a true standalone RIP software would offer.
  15. witch one would you buy SP-64X or JV3-75SP II

Exactly, especially if you laminate your print, that way you are not holding up print production while you contour cut the last job.
  16. witch one would you buy SP-64X or JV3-75SP II

The printers you listed are two different sizes, the Mimaki 160SP is the same size as the SP-64X. I have heard from several Seiko Colorpainter owners that they are not happy with the limited resolutions that they have to print from. And aside from that I havne't heard of any complaints there...
  17. Any Ideas . . .

Trust me, this is a customer provided thing, trying to match some stickers he had made already.
