  1. Mimaki cjv30-160 won’t pass ink type selection

You have to let it go right through the filling mode. You can disconnect the pump if you don't want it to suck ink through. There is a way of changing parameters to override it all and set the ink type, but I don't have time to try to find the info now.
  2. Installing 9.1 in windows 11

Thanks for posting that. For some reason I don't get emails from them. I just updated my SL11 to 11.2
  3. Installing 9.1 in windows 11

Hi Gray, hope you're going well. You should be able to get it to work okay. The main issue may be you need to install the latest dongle driver. I'll have a poke around as I reckon I have it here. I installed SL11 on my new Win 11 comp last year, but still haven't transitioned over to it yet. I...
  4. Mimaki JV33 Magenta Nozzles Blocked

The fact that your other 3 colors came back means your cap etc is probably working okay. Sometimes though, it can be only partially working - and not strong enough to pull ink through all the nozzles. Check under the cap. Put some maintenance fluid in the cap and then do a cleaning. See if you...
  5. Y Motor/servo motors and maintinance

Warning if you try that - if you adjust it too low it will cause Y overcurrent error every time it tries to move. Then you can't restart the machine because it will error on startup every time. Actually - that happened on my CJV30, so it may not error on startup on a JV33 as it doesn't need to...
  6. Y Motor/servo motors and maintinance

I found on my JV33 that the belt going around the cogs was responsible for a lot of the whining noise. I cleaned the belt - got a lot of surface gunk off. Then sprayed lithium grease on the cogs and belt teeth. Much better
  7. Mimaki CJV150 Head Issue

And make sure your wiper is centered properly
  8. Signlab 11 disappointing

They had it 50% off running for at least a few months last year till about September. Ask them if they'll still honour it for you.
  9. Cjv30 repair

Yes mate. Right here in sunny Adelaide. Happy Australia day
  10. Cjv30 repair

G'day Dan. How did you get on with the refurb printhead? Now you've fried the slider and taken out the mainboard?? Do you have the maintenance manual that shows the normal readings for the test points? We had similar problem ages ago - was TP5 too that tested low. Turns out it was 2 blown...
  11. Can't see eps.?

EPS files are sometimes iffy. Make sure it's saved to a local disk. Make sure it's not over multiple pages. See if you can import it into Corel. Try to rename it as PDF and use the pdf importer option.
  12. Refurbished DX5 head for CJV30

Interesting. I've never bought one. I've only ever pulled my own from used Epson printers bought locally. R900 and R2880
  13. Refurbished DX5 head for CJV30

Not that I'm aware of. I know Epson came out with 2nd gen locked and even 3rd gen, I think? When you change the parameters, the machine no longer looks at the head ID to check that it's original OEM. As far as I know you should be okay. I've put 3 in my machines no problem, but I don't know what...
  14. Refurbished DX5 head for CJV30

You absolutely can use refurbished Epson DX5 heads in the CJV30. You will need to alter a few service menu parameters, if it's not already done. The fact that you have a gold nozzle plate sounds like it's an Epson head in there already. Genuine Mimaki have grey plates. The head you are looking...
  15. Mimaki CJV 150-30 ink/printing issue

Good to hear. But, a proper profile/printmode should be able to handle RGB without over-inking like that. You need to look under the hood in the rip program and see if you can alter the amount of ink laid down before you print. It's handy for different materials or certain files. For instance...
  16. Mimaki CJV 150-30 ink/printing issue

Obviously laying down waaaay too much ink. Check the mix in your design program. If it's RGB, change it to CMYK. Set it at say 10,10,10,100. Or else check your rip settings - profile, max ink, passes etc.
  17. FILE EMPTY BUT SHOWING 1155 OBJECTS AND 393700 INCHES TALL

I've seen this before. You've got a corrupted or open ended object in there. See if you can zoom to sign blank and poke around to find the offending object and delete it
  18. Magenta Nozzles misfiring on brand new head

You don't need to pull the head out and try to suck the fluid up. Just turn off the printer, push the head over to the left, remove the magenta dampers and use a syringe full of cleaning fluid to pulse in/out. You could even rig a little tray of fluid under the head nozzles to soak in.
  19. Magenta Nozzles misfiring on brand new head

Don't use acetone. Use only the same cleaning fluid as the ink. Which ink is it? Refillable bulk or sealed cartridges?
  20. Magenta Nozzles misfiring on brand new head

Yeah, I'd be suspecting the ink. Grab a fresh magenta cart and see if it clears up
