  1. Aircraft graphics

Good call... There's a big difference in regulations with different classes of planes. Small private low altitude prop planes, even helicopters are less strict, but even with them you want to make sure your butt is covered. When you get into high elevation jet aircraft with pressurized cabins...
  2. Colex Media Feed Roll Setup

Should have told the tech you want royalties if they use your idea:toasting:
  3. Aircraft graphics

With all the restrictions and conditions that'll void the warranty, they might as well not even have one.
  4. Laminating Bubble Issue

Vevor says they're in stock.... https://www.vevor.com/hot-cold-pouch-laminating-machine-c_10896/51-1300mm-manual-vinyl-film-mounting-laminating-machine-cold-laminator-p_010501568194
  5. Laminating Bubble Issue

I run a seal 54, and it's bullet proof when using the less is always better rule. I never use high roller pressure, just enough tension on the laminate and backer take up rolls for them to do their thing, and rarely ever have issues. If I run too fast for the heat to do it's job I get a little...
  6. Aircraft graphics

Standard vehicle wrapping vinyl isn't approved for aircraft graphics, except for hobby/ experimental aitcraft, you could probably sneak by on bush planes and such, but not a corporate or commercial aitcraft. Winglets are usually more for jets, so I'm assuming that's what it is...??? If it's for...
  7. never fails

I sent my rhythm guitarist a bag every year on his birthday for 5 years... He never did figure out who was sending them, he thinks it was a disgruntled fan
  8. never fails

You can search all day and Google won't give ya' nuthin. Talk to yourself about about a metal sign printer in the privacy of your bathroom first, then Google will give it to you without even searching for it. That's how the world works today :roflmao:
  9. How many people here recreate fonts?

I do it for logos all the time. If I can't ID the font used right away, it's usually faster to just recreate it manually than search. Especially with script fonts that don't work with font ID apps.
  10. Need Help Where to source table top roll up banner stands

Orbus has em' too, several different brands, sizes, and styles for tabletop.
  11. Seeking your expert knowledge

For two sided you use an ink collection system like JBurton described. It has an absorbant replaceable pad that goes in it, and the vacuum pulls the ink into it, away from the material. It's mainly a grand format thing for doing mega large banners like you'd see hanging in stadiums, hence the...
  12. Need Help Has anyone ever approached their City Council to review and change a city ordinance for sign placement?

A portion of a downtown district in one of the cities here doesn't allow any exterior window graphics. There are no exceptions, they won't give a warning, and they'll fine by the day for every day they can prove they are up.
  13. Need Help Has anyone ever approached their City Council to review and change a city ordinance for sign placement?

One thing I haven't seen happen in my lifetime yet is a variance being granted for something after you've already committed a violation of by putting it up. Good luck...
  14. What resolution is everyone printing at

We run Mimaki printers, resolution and passes are treated separately. I run just about everything at 720x1080 8 pass unless it really needs something higher, then i usually just up the number of passes, very rarely do I ever have to increase resolution for what we do, and the materials we use...
  15. Banner Hemming Machines?

Place I initially retired from (oh to be retired again) had both seam welder and a double needle sewing machine. The seam welder sat in a corner collecting dust, sewing was so much quicker, plus you can do fabric banners and backdrops, table runners & skirts printed on fabric, opens a lot of...

  17. Customer Wanting Design Files

Agree. I'm happy to be rid of some, whatever it takes. I'm not a file Nazi to start with, most art is customer specific anyway, so I'll never use it again. If a PITA's bill has been paid in full, including design time, as far as I'm concerned they can have artwork, minus any print layouts or...
  18. Customer Wanting Design Files

He probaably got off lucky. If I did something like that, there would be no reviews, good bad or otherwise... My wife would just shoot me
  19. Customer Wanting Design Files

Starting to understand why the wife got so irate, rather than flattered :thumb:
