  1. Sc540ex part out

With Rolands, not sure if it's the proper way, but couldn't you load them up with cleaning cartridges and use them to flush and pump out all the ink for longer term storage?
  2. Printing faded flag for police car

If the car is straight up black, I'd print it as a wrap & do everything below the window line, trim it off at the hood line, front & rear bumper seams, and trim it to the stripe for the transition between the back door and back window. Everything else, logo, police, etc, I'd do as separate...
  3. Self Healing Table Top

If you have no luck finding what you had, I've always used the Rhino Self Healing Mats. They last years, you can get them with or without grids, they're translucent if your tables have grids, or you can print your own custom grids on anything and lay it under them... They go all the way up to...
  4. Looking for a wholesaler for 15oz lay flat blockout

I was with a display company for over 15 years, and we used a lot of these PET films. We got them from Big Systems (bigsys.com). They have films like you describe, roll-up, lay flat block out films with grey or white backs, prices aren't bad. The only hitch for you is they're only from 9-11mil...
  5. Thermal Laminate for Membership / Loyalty Cards

Kapco makes a 10mil gloss thermal polyester.
  6. Happy Holidays people

Don't feel bad Stacey. No hangover here either, after the bills for Christmas for 6 kids, 11 grand kids, 3 great grand kids... Who can afford to have fun? Maybe on New Years Eve ;)
  7. Computer type

Well, now you know where it came from, a retailer in the UK. Hard to support sellers in your own country to keep them in business and stay competitive on prices... None of our money stays here anymore, and most of the time you don't even know it. Wonder how many people in other countries get US...
  8. Software Help Mimaki CG-61pro series *a fossil has found*

One of ours is a CG130FX, it's been in service here for over 17 years and still works like a charm. Mimaki made some incredibly good machines back in the day, keep them maintained and they'll last. We added an SR-III to the mix, and it seems like a toy compared to the old CG.
  9. Suggestions Laminated Decals Not Always Coming Up with the Premask / Transfer Tape

That's one of those things that I, and probably most have been doing for so long that we don't even think about recommending to others. Yes, it's almost always better to do it that way. Glad you found a solution, and that it was so simple.
  10. Computer type

That's the problem with Amazon, you never know who you're getting it from, there's just too many vendors, they're nothing but middle men for most stuff. If I need something now, as unimpressive as they can be at times, I'll pay the extra from Best Buy, I at least know where to go if there's an...
  11. Computer type

If it doesn't have a switch it's most likely auto-voltage sensing. Lots of newer stuff is like that, they did away with the switches and integrated a sensor so when you plug it in it sets the value automatically.
  12. Happy Holidays people

Merry merry, and happy happy to everyone from the frozen tundra, where it's always picture perfect over the holidays... Until you have to go outside in negative 30-40 degree wind chills.
  13. Computer type

Modern power supplies can be set up for either 110 or 220 via a switch somewhere on the supply like the pic shows. Find it, make sure it's set to 110 first, then you can use any std power cord. Again, make sure it's set to 110 first, don't just flip the switch and go, some of the imports will...
  14. Computer type

I want to trade in my multiple monitors for this, the Samsung Odyssey Ark monitor... It's a curved 55 inch, you can run it horizontal or vertical, horizontal you can have it as one big monitor, or split the screen into multiple monitors, I think max is four 27" equivalent. Vertical you can split...
  15. Roland Lef2-200 vs Mimaki UJF-6042MKII

If I was going down that path, for me it would probably come down to what I was planning on printing. Roland is capable of slightly higher resolution, but the Mimaki has a wider/ longer/ higher print area, and 8 colors max to hit a wider color gamut vs Roland's 6. I'm a fan of both companies...
  16. Contour mark scan speed

In the ARMS menu on the machine there is a sensing speed option. might be what you're looking for...
  17. Computer type

I've used the USB to LAN adapters. Even the $20 ones handle 1gb, they're economical, easy, plug & play... Not really a downside to em'.
  18. Computer type

If you don't have an external drive to move files onto to get extra space, there are plenty of cloud services that have free accounts you could use to temporarily move files to until you're back up and running. Even if you have to sign up for a couple of them, it should give you enough storage...
  19. Suggestions Laminated Decals Not Always Coming Up with the Premask / Transfer Tape

When it comes to pre-mask some just work better than others with different scenarios, they're not all created equal. We use Rtape for most stuff, but have to stock Transfer Rite pre-mask for one client, it's the only one we've found that works with the vinyl/ lam specs for decals we provide for...
  20. Employee side business

I have a side hustle, came into this job with it, and it's perfect. When I retired I started doing ad designs for newspapers, publications, magazines for something to do... Stuff the shop doesn't do anyway. Works out great, anytime one of my clients needs signage or graphics I refer them to the...
