  3. Colorado 1650 Printing Stickers ?? Laminate or Not ??

Now with eco solvent I would always laminate as no laminate would guarantee edge curl no matter how long you let them dry
  4. Colorado 1650 Printing Stickers ?? Laminate or Not ??

I use 6 mil material with no laminate for small stickers, printed on the Colorado. Never any issues. The 6 mil material comes out a little cheaper that cal vinyl + cal lam and the thickness/feel is exactly the same. I would say without lam feels even nicer since the uv ink is raised a bit

  6. Question Is there a comparison study on vinyl cutter registration systems? (ARMS vs OPOS vs barcode, etc)

I use graphtec fc9000, takes 5 seconds extra to load a print for cutting vs just loading regular vinyl for cutting. I have never had an issue reading the barcodes or registration marks.

Do you not trust the prints coming out of your printer or your tile set up process? I print lots tiled wall murals and can't imagine checking having to check for tiles matching.

  10. CANON OCE 1650 Printer Lamination Not Needed?

But aside from the unlaminated wrap question there is no printer that comes close in terms of speed, quality, consistency, ease of use, ink cost. I have 150k sqft on mine since November and was one of the best business decisions I have made. Once you get used to the colorado you won't want to...
  11. CANON OCE 1650 Printer Lamination Not Needed?

Canon does have that video where they compared a laminated wrap to an unlaminated wrap and they're was no color change difference after 6 months. Car was kept outdoors and went through lots of car washes. Video is on the Canon site, maybe they have a newer update posted.
  12. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

no laminate, ink came out to 9 cents per sq/ft on the colorado 1650. No one had to work overtime, so did not cost me anything extra in labor. We would've been here with or without the order. This customer usually pays half the price I charged them (one of the largest retailers in the country)...

  14. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

There are 16 fastsigns within a 15 min drive from me. I'd say they are on the higher end of pricing due to their name and very good locations (although very expensive rent). I'm very happy with my work to profit ratio, just finished a 50k sq ft print for $1.5sqft on 22 cent per sq ft media...
  15. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

It depends on where you are located too, my city has a bigger population than your state. Way more competition here. There are at least 20 signs companies within 15 minutes of driving from where I am and 2 more just opened up a mile from each other.

  18. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

I have 4 printers, an extra 164sq ft isn't going to prevent me from doing a job. Worst case scenario I'm so slammed i can't do the banners, I have a good friend 5 minutes from my shop that specializes in banners and he'll knock them out no problem at wholesale pricing for me. I'd rather get the...
  19. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

I would gladly print a ready file for $2.72 per sq ft with no laminate. that's 50 cents materials/ink per sq ft. 164 sq ft = $300 profit for 20min of print time on my Colorado. On my Roland that's probably an hr of print time and a little more ink cost but still profitable.
  20. Need Help Graphtec FC-9000 not finishing cuts on print/cut

I just checked files I used to cut on my fc8600 and they are set up that way too, cutting beyond the registration marks. The files I set up for the fc8600 were set up with the new graphtec barcode system but instead of scanning the barcodes I would send it from the computer
