  1. Surely the best street painting

Yep... been trying to come up with something like that for our bathroom area at work, but don't think the angle will work right. Would be cool to look like you were walking into a hole or something.
  2. Long time, first time.

Well, yeah, you gotta have a way to measure the patches and get it done correctly. I still think every manufacturer should just include a spectro in the sales package when you buy the printer and you can opt out if you already own one.
  3. Long time, first time.

Bradley, Who is doing the install? Comparing CET to Gandi isn't very fair, now is it? Your install techs are machine guys most likely and in alot of service organizations - they are there to install the machine and get it in operating condition. Color management is separate training. If you go...
  4. Open letter to Barry Weiss.

How about a reality show featuring somebody from out of this industry trying to make it in the sign and graphics world - could call it Signvivor. Or better yet, take rich overly hyped celebrities and make them live in Cabrini Green or Compton and survive on welfare and food stamps for 1 month...
  5. Wholesale printing

Its not that its good or bad - I find it convenient to see a special pop up when I sign into the forum or am in a thread like this. But I surmise somewhere down the line there will be a peeved shop owner somewhere in the US who runs across a customer who demands $3.50 a square foot for wrap...
  6. Wholesale printing

Just because the pricing shows up here doesn't mean that everyone who views this site gets that price. Most guys that offer wholesale services require you to send in a resale certificate or some proof that you are actually in the print business.
  7. where do you get your retractable banner stands from?

What is the correct I-max website?
  8. where do you get your retractable banner stands from?

Ohhh... i responded to this type of post a few months back. Almost everyone online is rebranding Orbus... so you might as well go to them direct. 90% of Creative Banner is Orbus, same for Signs+Banners. Expand Media is good stuff, but pricey. Same goes for Testrite. Mark Bric is out there, too...
  9. Looking for a Flatbed or Hybrid UV - Quality over Speed

Don't even list Anderson as an option. You need to decide if you want dedicated flatbed or need hybrid ability - then list the machines in each category. Then list plusses and minusses for each down the line. I own very first CET and have no regrets.
  10. new rastek tf1000 having problems.... any help would be great

If you are looking at that printer - do yourself a favor and look at the new CET models. Lesser known company, but much better machine.
  11. Flamed edge or polished on Acrylic

60 tooth won't do it. You need a finer blade if you are gonna attempt in-house. I just posted this in another thread related to same topic: International Display Systems here in Charlotte. Ask for Mike or Scott. They will laser cut it and problem solved. http://idsacr.com/...
  12. new rastek tf1000 having problems.... any help would be great

Whats your temperature and humidity directly around the printer? That looks like a static issue.
  13. Where to purchase Race Car Templates.

All the decal guys around here - and this is NASCAR central - usually do their own measuring and templates and keep them as closely guarded secrets.
  14. Flamed edge or polished on Acrylic

International Display Systems here in Charlotte will do it for you with their laser. http://idsacr.com/ Ask for Scott or Mike
  15. Display Acrylic Needed

First off... rotate your photos to the correct orientation before posting. You want flame polished edges, so you need someone who knows plastics. Any vendor listed before - including Pitman - can get you acrylic. Some, like Grimco and Piedmont Plastics will cut them to size for you with the...
  16. Wide format printer... opinions?

If you don't want to laminate - why not just get a UV-curable printer. The bulk of my business is high-end trade show and retail displays. I very rarely use my laminator. My 6x10 flatbed was in your price range.
  17. Humidity % for Printing?

Last season's show special was $1,000. I know it seems high, but you hae to think in terms of how much you are saving in materials, ink and wasted time by having the correct environment to print in. Would need a small direct water connection for continual source and depending upon where you...
  18. Humidity % for Printing?

I just use two of the large ones you can buy from Lowe's or Home Depot. Made by EssickAir. Want to upgrade to a driect line whole room humidifier from: http://www.airandwatersystems.com/ They do alot of the regional offset commercial print companies around here, but they have a smaller unit...
  19. Humidity % for Printing?

Your printer manual should have Ambient Temperature specifications in the back with all the other Technical Specs. Most aqueous printers range between 50 - 75% as acceptable range. Really makes a difference with small droplet UV-curable devices, though. Small humidifier won't cut it. We have...
  20. buying a new flatbed

We are going to ISA to look at a new cutter/router and either a second flatbed or a faster/larger one that can deliver same quality but higher speeds. Our sales were up 400% from 12/10 to 12/11. Its not about the machines, its about separating yourself from the competition in total services...
