Ok I'm waiting for them to provide a file so I can see how much I'll have to do to get it print ready, also figured out the material they are currently using is Avery 1105EZ with Avery DOL1360Z lam so I'll go with that

Ok I'm going with the following, since it is about the only thing in stock Avery 1105EZ vinyl with either 3M 8518 or Avery DOL1360Z lam. Any problem with this? Also is $600 to print and laminate (not counting material) 75ft x 54" too low or about the going wholesale-ish rate?

I only make indoor graphics, murals/decals and was approached by a neighboring car wrapping business asking if I can print car wraps for them. They wrap expensive cars ie rolls royce, Bentley etc and "pop trunk" type cars mostly with color change vinyl but are looking to do more regular cars...

Have you tried different materials, profiles etc. You're just going to have to play around with materials and profiles until it looks good. I have a VS300 (I think one generation ahead of your printer ) and it is more grainy compared to my new SG2 where all colors look like colored vinyl with 0...

I had a similar decision to make as you , had a Roland VS going trouble free for 6 years, then came time to upgrade and everyone was saying get an epson. I stuck with roland and got 2 SG-2 , wanted the vg but the lead times were too long, were also long on the epsons when I was buying a year...

also using a narrower material like 30" could help since the result is ok one one side and gets worse on the other side

are you loading the material as straight as possible into the cutter? have you tried not doing a registration mark of every single circle?

Hmm that's interesting, I'm reading this thread doing research on printers to see what I might upgrade my Roland sg2 with if they can't keep up and I can do 3 150ft rolls at 7 pass at low quality which looks great. I was thinking the 80600 would be faster like 5-6 rolls in 24hrs

Point this out to your material supplier and demand a lower price, low material prices aren't just going to show up, you have to put some work in to get the best price

For me it depends on how busy we are, when very busy I don't do any discounts, prices go up a little when I quote, if not busy I'd rather do a job at a discount than risk not getting it due to price.
