  1. Need Help Window perf

If laminated, I go dry. You can re-position fairly easy with lam. If not I do it wet to avoid any stretching/tearing and to be sure I can re-position. Never had a problem with adhesion afterwards. I install quite a bit of perf that I did not print as I have a nationwide company that I install...
  2. Discussion Have ya gotten the feeling......................

I started hand painting signs and making screen films by hand. I very much enjoy the speed and versatility I have with modern tools. I have built commercially for years as well as signs. Small businesses to Disney. I helped build Avatar in Disney Orlando with my brother. The craftsman are still...
  3. Fun hand made sign

Very nice. My daughter used modge podge when my father passed to make the family wood coasters with his pic on them from scraps in his shop. Turned out nice.
  4. Brick & Stone Engraving

I blast granite plaques for memorial wall at our local AM Legion Post. So metimes I do special events or awards as well trimmed out in wood. 10 names ranks and dates each on a 12x12 tile. I use cheap vinyl double layered for mask and a pin gun from harbor freight with 80 grit iron oxide. You...
  5. What Direction Do You Weed Your Cut Vinyl?

Same in signlab, weed border . I will usually put one in the middle of very small text or in complex text. Right to left for font, left to right for #. All paragraph text gets weed borders between lines so text can be weeded quickly, easily and with minimal recuts.
  6. Wall Wraps- Shrinking, Curling

Not all murals are forever. Wallpaper is good for permanent.
  7. Wall Wraps- Shrinking, Curling

Phototex on interior. If not that brand fabric for sure.
  8. Need Help In need of a sign. lol

Print, print, print. Not one mention of plotting vinyl. Your customers have asked for something that lasts years and years. That's not print. Composite panel ( not the thinnest they sell) with high performance vinyl cut on plotter. Or a variety of other substrates depending on job at hand...

  10. Discussion What did you have.................... ??

Corner produce guy in our little burg sells from his garden. Nice variety. Our last house we had a nice fig tree that my wife used to make strawberry/fig preserves. Man I miss that tree.
  11. DONE WITH SIGNS365, burned me for the last time!

They did the same to me. Then came on here and blamed the issue on me. Sent same files somewhere else and finished the job no problem. They refuse to take responsibility for crap QC and offer a discount on reprint. They were great until they weren't. Not on my vendor list any more.
  12. Whats an economical software to open pdf files and export as high res tiffs or jpegs

V8P&C here. If I am exporting or importing I make sure the change text to graphics box is clicked. I have illy, ps and corel as well. Corel is pretty good talking to SL. I am still on CDR12 and good with it.
  13. Whats an economical software to open pdf files and export as high res tiffs or jpegs

I have no problem doing what you describe in SL.
  14. Are TrueVIS Rolands really THAT bad?

Can't spec models but one of my neighbor shops that does a ton of printing just got their 3rd roland. He is corporate wrap king around here. I don't think he would have bought a third if he wasn't happy with the other 2. I had a seiko for 10 years and rode that sucker into the dirt. It was a...
  15. "No show bolt" install of aluminum panel

90 and some adhesive to back. I have done exactly that with Lords adhesive with beads in it for a uniform grab. Stuff was dang near hurricane proof.
  16. Removal of dimensional letters

If they are on studs you will be doing wall repair before you can damage it with new studs.
  17. What's proper etiquette if a prospect sends you a competitor's proof for pricing?

So the original question was what do you do if someone hands you a competitors proof for bid. Myself, I hand it back and tell them I am never the cheapest and I don't copy other people's work. If all you are doing is shopping a cheaper price I am definitely not your sign guy. They do from time...
