Every third call being a solicitation hasn't helped. No one wants to stop what they are doing ten times a day for a cold call. that being said, my wife does her best to keep me away from the customers;-)
Thin styrene coated with gold metallic vinyl. Small sheets cut down to easily run through your plotter. Crank up the pressure and score the sheet as good as you can. Snap out the 50's and smooth edges where necessary. Put new blade in plotter.
Screen printer first, then added signs. In between I have built a ton of stuff, lol. From residential to Disney Attractions. Commercial pest control for a while, taught high school, back into signs and screen printing almost 18 years ago full time. Building a craft distillery now for my old age.
Client I've had many years is changing gears but still wants to use the font he could never id for me and I couldn't find years ago so just drew the word and been using it since. Any one got a clue? Thank you;-)
Study TTB rules, standards and practices for new distillery. Still have a little plumbing and interior framing to do on buildout. Finally got permit app submitted yesterday. Lord what a pile of forms. Hopefully I'll be making rum soon and doing sign work on slow days, lol.
No vinyl. Straight to substrate. And what Gino said about 5900 series inks is correct. I keep adhesion promoter around for those moments when I don't want to drop a pile of coin on a small print run and have ink leftover forever. Not everything needs to last 10 years.
I just reprinted a set of digital mags that I did not notice the error on until I was trimming the corners. It was an action where signlab drop shadow tool occasionally goes haywire, I should have caught it while designing. My wife and the customer both saw the proof and no one said a thing...
It was sherwin williams. I don't have the exact specs with me but I will post it after the holiday. I got the rgb spec for it from their site to try to match oranges in the art to wall but when printed wasn't even close. Turned out ok as customer liked the contrast thank goodness.
I wouldn't expect Avery to give an inch or to help in any way. The company, not the vinyl. For all I know they may have the best product in the market nowadays but I will never find out.
That just seems ridiculous. I'm a signlab user, have print and cut version. If I want to just cut, hit the scissor tool. If I need to cut and print, hit that icon. Viola.
