  1. Nordic Walking

They're two totally different things...but they provide essentially the same benefits.
  2. Nordic Walking

Think of it as the difference between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. You're utilizing the upper body to increase your momentum, thus you burn more calories (since you're utilizing approx. 90% of your muscle groups). You're not swinging your arms wildly. You set the pole and push off...
  3. Nordic Walking

Anybody into Nordic Walking (with tandem walking poles)? This is my second year, and by far it's the best way to boost metabolism and drop pounds. Somehow, I got away from using the poles during last summer and fall, and I noticed a huge decline in metabolism...and a substantial weight...

  6. cheapest oil available for CNC cutting metals?

Here's what I've used for years in the tool and die shop. Rather than a fine atomized mist, keep it a little heavy...small droplets. Otherwise you'll turn the air blue with misty haze. http://www.koolmist.com/coolant-systems JB
  7. Today's project

Two too many apertures. I would do only one flower (aperture) with a stem and a couple of leaves. JB
  8. Blood Glucose Monitoring App: Anybody Using One?

I'm non-diabetic, but I closely monitor my fasting glucose levels each morning since Type 2 diabetes runs heavily down both sides of my family. I'm using Samsung's S-Health app for sticking with my 2015 (yes...2015) resolutions for weight control and physical activity, but other than a...
  9. What makes your shop FUN?

Turning out the lights in the middle of the workday and visiting the grandbabies. They're a year and eight days apart, and my lovely (and very fertile) daughter informed us that another is on the way this year as well. Life is awesome! JB
  10. Stencil material for Glass etching

Sign vinyl works well. I could shoot you a piece of 15" sprocket punched Hartco 310 (10 mil.) if need be. JB
  11. Short Run Packaging

For simple 2D design work, TurboCAD might fit the bill. They have a special going on: https://www.turbocad.com/turbocad-windows/bundles/turbocad-deluxe-anniversary-edition.html?vid=K8X1PN5S&utm_source=remarkety&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=W04-2016-m5-TC-2015-Dlx-Anniv-Windows-Other-EM_1
  12. Short Run Packaging

With computerized equipment, I would imagine a lot of packaging companies now have the capabilities to do short-runs and so a lot of that work will be difficult to get. Packaging engineers aren't going to cut their own throats by divulging any information. As far as cut files go, (unless the...
  13. New Cutter purchase and customer support

Wow...stunningly nice work, for sure. Absolutely love the ton of eye candy! How do you work the royalties for all the licensed stuff (Big 10, Jeep, NBA, etc...)? Do you work through a third party for that? JB
  14. Sandblasting Preparation

You mentioned smoothness...are you having raised grain issues with the aqueous based sealers? If so, use a spray mist bottle and wet the wood, dry adequately then sand. JB
  15. Sandblasting Preparation

What material are you using for stencil? Are you having stencil adhesion issues with the new finishes you're using? JB
  16. Looking for proof to PDF software

We've taken that concept and went one step "simpler". We use the multiple art board feature in Illustrator so we only need to deal with one file for everything artwork related: mockups, proofs, full-scale artwork, artwork approval forms, photos, cut-files (we do vinyl cutting only), etc...
  17. Getting My First SmartPhone

Whatever you do, don't neglect to get an OtterBox. I have the Defender series and it's saved my phone at least twice so far. http://www.otterbox.com/en-us/source
  18. Getting My First SmartPhone

I just got my first smart phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) two months ago and I really like being "un-chained" from my desk. It's one of the best business investments ever. Had I known how helpful it would be...and how much I would like it, I would have done it years ago. It's like being able to...

  20. Is the Gerber GS 15 (Not Plus) Tangental mode Only?

Initializing the (drag) knife orients the blade in such a way that the plotter "knows" where to set the knife down for its first cut. It makes a couple of small straight line cuts to get the blade situated correctly. JB
