  1. Printing white ink (only) on ABS

Not sure... It was April 11, 2017 when that photo was taken. The humidity was maybe around 40-50%. But after the actual people who built the machine came out and looked at it (flew in from California) They messed more with the head temps. You might be right. I don't really know because I do...
  2. Printing white ink (only) on ABS

here are some drips.... It almost makes you think that screen printing or a spray booth might make better sense. But for what we do, this works out for the most part. But it does take a crap-ton of white ink. We actually lost an account because the manufacturer of the ink couldn't keep up...
  3. Printing white ink (only) on ABS

I have a Stratojet 4x8 econo shark. It works ok and has paid for itself. But, I can tell you from LOTS of white printing experience that it gets really tricky. That ink is really goofy stuff. You constantly have to play with head temperatures because just about everything can throw it off...
  4. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

LogoJET emailed me this morning with a promotion they are running... It actually looks like a good deal for what they are offering. But... it still doesn't change the fact that I'd have to sell a billion beer bottles to make it pay for itself.
  5. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

Basically at the shop it's just a small RICOH SG 3110DNW that works well with the sawgrass inks. ---- At my house I've got the exact same printer using crazy 3rd party inks for fun. 3rd party inks for it are really hit or miss. since I used to do a ton of my own repairs on my old Roland...
  6. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

Right now I'm pretty much thinking that it just doesn't make sense to get one that costs above $20K. The logoJET is cool because it can turn off certain sections of the printhead so it can focus on a small area that is in focus on a curved shape. But for the most part, I can do tons of...
  7. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

The UV2400 with a rotary attachment ... plus shipping... is about $28-$29K. I'm sure someone is going to charge tax for it... ???? I'm not sure but I think figuring on $30K is about right. hmmmm..... that's a heck of a lot of beer bottles to pay that off.
  8. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

I just wrote them and asked for a price quote... I'm pretty sure that by the time you get everything you need it ends up being maybe $30k. It's just, every time i've seen a price of $XX.XX..... it always somehow balloons up with shipping and "oh hey, you need this thing... and this do-hickey...
  9. SMALL flatbed UV printer for bottles, etc...

Hello, I know there are a boatload of "what printer should I buy?" posts, but I can't easily find anything pertaining to SMALLER UV printers for promotional products and specialty things like bottles (with round roller attachments, etc...). I currently have a CMYK +white 48x96 stratojet that is...

  11. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

Yes... I'm thinking about the 124 cupcake shapes that I cut out of thin 1mm pvc and the time between sheets was a big factor.
  12. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

I understand you completely when it comes to the "one off jobs that never seem to fit any mold".... As soon as you think you have a handle on something, one of these one off jobs come by and throws a wrench into everything! ---- I like the $5 per job for bits... that would seem to cover costs...

  15. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

Ah!... found where to estimate the run time based on current settings in Mach3. I'm going to go and think about what other things are involved... how long bits last, etc.... Also, if anyone is wondering... I'm really surprised at how well this Zenbot CNC machine has worked. instructions were...
  16. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

Super good points... I did find another CNC routing forum that asked a similar questions... They are all saying about the same as what you all are saying above. The time it takes... + the other costs (bits, waste, etc...) I guess I'm going to look up how to get the time estimation for...
  17. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

Thank you very much for the reply!... I appreciate it. Trying to figure out pricing has been the most insane part of this business. Even after 9 years I'm still wondering. I know it must depend like your saying on X amount of cuts + additional cuts (which would be the complexity I guess) The...
  18. Need Help Pricing various CNC items

Hello, I've been searching the forums and haven't found anything regarding pricing for CNC products and services. I finally built a CNC machine that we've used to cut certain shapes out of wood and plastics that we print onto with our UV flatbed printer after they are cut. Example... these...
