    that was my next thought too. so i looked in the service manual and it has instructions to test the "ink sensor", but since i have the warning to change the ink cartridge, i can't get into the menu to test the sensors!! arghhhh

    ok... the pin that punctures the cartridge appears to be fine, as the cartridge is punctured. next, i took off that front cover to have a look, and i couldn't see or feel anything in the magenta lines.

    when i first put in the new cartridge it looked like it was going to work. then i ran a cleaning, the pump worked for a while, and it then it beeped a couple of times and said to replace the magenta cartridge again.

    i have two printers, one was working fantastically, the other was a piece of crap. we brought the tech in, for some reason he thought he could make the #1 printer even better than it was....and it is printing at about 50% the quality it was before, and he had to come out 5 or 6 times to continue...
