I've done it before. I made my own platen with a separate border piece that goes over the t shirt and platen to make it flat. It works, the ink is vibrant and doesn't fade. The problem was getting the height consistent to avoid a head strike and making sure to print unidirectional to prevent...
I have made a few on a 2504 HD. The ink doesn't fade at all nor does it irritate the skin. I built a platen to lay on the table and it works great. The biggest concern is getting the head height right.
here is an old video just taped to the bed...
we use the ij160 c floorminders with the 3645 laminate. It is super thick and we sell it to warehouse with foot and forklift traffic. We print with an acuity flatbed.
Depending on your ink set, durability will be all over the place-we use the KO. Nearly everything we have requires an adhesion promoter. We use the ZE-1000 on just about everything. If you apply that wrong, you will get streaks all over the place. There is a you tube video on how to apply...
First I delint my self with some waste vinyl. Then I usually turn off the heat as our vents are pointing down. I position our laminator underneath the spot where there isn't a vent. We also have a static elastic bar that goes over our material as it is going in the laminator. Then I use a tac...
I have been running a 2504hd for 3 years now and we have never needed one. The last tech guy that came in tried to sell me one. He said it was about $2000 to be fitted to the machine. We do have a static wand we run over our pvc but only for lamination purposes, not printing.
I work for a safety label company as their lead safety sign maker along with safety labels too. Not sure how much this matters to you, but every symbol(stick figure guys) is copyrighted by someone. I don't know if the layout matters or not. We copyright individual symbols along with the...
I understand the purpose of ink limits and linearization. However, where do you get the information to select the limit? The scale is from 0-100. I think I measured each swatch and chose the percentage that match the print tech's notes on the correct density for each color.
I just made two black boxes in Illustrator, one 100k, one at 100C 100M 100Y 100K and both came up 82.7C 82.7M 82.7Y 100K. I tried twice, one with Illustrator outputting all blacks as rich black, and all blacks accurately and got the same result.
I am using an Acuity 2504 HD with the KO inks...
Wow, I have been fighting these issues for 3 years. My black, no matter what I set it to in Illustrator comes out to be 88 88 88 100. The ink is way too thick and our laminates show lifting lines. What Ive had to do is manually change ALL of our colors to specific spot color values I have...
I have done this with Production House 7. In fact, I switched from XP to XP, then XP to Windows 7. I do export my settings and back them up just in case. I have tried backing up my settings and doing a fresh install on a new and our color was totally off. Just copying the folder in the C...
