I cut letters like that all the time for a trade show company they laminate with P lam and the I cut them. They use vecro to hold them up so they can take them down without damage for the next show
I just cut a bunch of circles in Komalu with a 1/8 straight cut bit they came out without having to do anything. I ran the machine at 9000 rpm and 200 inch per min here is the bit I used

I just bought a 2 terra Buffalo NAS had a 1 terra that was getting full. Bought it from Micro center for $120 including tax My old Buffalo was 12 years old
I would also look at a ATC spindle and a bigger table. I never heard anyone say I wish I would have gotten a smaller table. You can cut small stuff on a large table but it is a hassle to cut large stuff on a small table
If you have gecko drives they are pretty hardy. Gecko will repair or replace them you just have to get a RMA number from them and send them in. I had 8 repaired and all it cost me was shipping
Did you upgrade your software I had some trouble with one of the upgrades. Call Shopbot and ask them about it they are very nice to talk to and will support their machines. I had one that I was the 3rd owner and they just had me regester it and they provided support for it as they knew what...
Mine with the 4g board stopped pretty quik maybe not on a dime but it didn't move more than a 64 th of an inch. I now have the Centroid Acorn controller on it and that stops about the same.
