Here you would dig the hole 36 to 40 inches deep and pour in a base of concrete. Then when that is set put your posts in and backfill. Also they will use sona tubes put the posts in them and fill with concrete. I have seen to many posts that were set using concrete that the frost had lifted...
You are right about the wind load. I installed sat dishes back in the 80 and a solid dish had the same wind load as a screen one due to the fact of the turbulance the screen caused
We have both and our Mig welds look just as good as our TIG welds. Mig is easier to learn and if you get good the welds will be great. We do a lot of aluminum trusses for Trade shows and they have to be pretty strong
A Trotec at 10 times the price should get you a lot of support. Yes they are better built but to recoup that you would need to do a lot of work. I have 2 of the Chinese lasers and can say that I have had good luck with both.
I did a memorial wall letters for our fire department and just use GE silicone using a card board templet to hold them until the silicone set up had to remove them when they moved the wall to new location and had one heck of a time getting the letters off
I have an older Shopbot and it does everything that comes my way for acrylic I have a laser cutter gives me a better edge even then the 100K Bessie I ran at the shop I worked for. In fact I did cut stuff that for that shop would nod try on the Bessie as it was more cost efficient. I could make...
