So if my truck is 200" long, I would divide by 10 to give me 20" on screen, which would be1/10 scale, I get this part! It's the 1000% part I don't get, or is it that 1000% equals multiplying by 10 to get it full size? I think I get the whole ppi thing , at 1/10 I would design at 720ppi, for a...

Found one, but it still confused me! 1/20 scale is 20 times smaller? Would you multiply by 20? Where does 2000% come in ?

Searching the forum for posts related to this now, there maybe posts similar, but I can't find them!

Can someone please explain if I design something at 1/10 scale at 720 ppi , I have seen articles saying you would scale it up 1000%..............I'm lost someone please explain this for me? At full size this would be 72 ppi ??? I'm lost I guess because the math doesn't seem to make sense?

I think I can build my own template and design a wrap in all vector in illustrator, but including photos , well that's another story!

Thanks Stacy! I just am trying to understand why a lot of people use photoshop to do their designs since it really isn't a layout program , why do you rasterize the whole thing ? Wouldn't it be best to keep vector items vector?

I wouldn't say it was experimental, people have been painting aluminum for years, I just was trying to find out the right way to do it. And no I can't get anymore free, that was I one time thing! I really appriciate all the advice, thanks!

The other post started out about covering aluminum with vinyl, but then I asked about paint, I thought it would be easier to start a new thread on that subject! O well now there is 2, lol! Thanks again for the info!

After searching the Internet for hours, it is my understanding and I could be wrong, but it seems to me that if it a mil finish , latex primer will work! If it is anodized , this must be etched or sanded, then latex primer will be ok!

Any thoughts on using Zinsser primer on un painted aluminum ? It says on the can it can be used on aluminum ? I searched the Internet and seen it being suggested to use an etching primer? Would sanding lightly do the same thing?

I usually buy painted aluminum , close to the color I want to paint, lightly sand and then roll on the paint! I wasn't sure about painting bare aluminum , that's why I asked about covering with 751
