  1. In The Shop This Week

Currently building a hospital main ID pylon 5.5M x 1.5M. I don't always mount pylon frames on gimbals (read modified engine stands) but the amount of times this sign needs to be flipped certainly warrants it. The inner and side faces are clad in mirror finish stainless. just waiting on the cut...
  2. How would you fix push through letters?

When fixing intra cut or push through acrylic letters to a light box face I've never had much luck fixing the face letter to the backing acrylic without producing shadows from the joins in clear VHB or the leafing effect from using acrylic cement. How do you fix these letters?
  3. Adhering Acrylic to Cor-ten

I have a customer wanting a cut through, back lit sign face made from Cor-ten steel sheet. I see problems with the opal acrylic letting go as the material corrodes. Can the rear of the sheet be sealed to stop it rusting and provide an adequate bonding surface for VHB and adhesive? Any thoughts...
  4. Advice sought on day/night lightbox

Hi folks, A few changes since I was last here. Hi, does anyone have an opinion on Rishang leds? Our supplier has been selling us these for the last year or so, no issues as yet just wondering if there were any known or long term problems?
  7. In The Shop This Week

Just introduced myself in the New Members section and thought I'd start a thread. Completed these four signs this week, three of the same units went out two weeks ago and three more will be ready to roll out the door next week. Laying on their side before loading. The mid and lower panels...
  8. New here

Hi folks, Was having a look around the forum this morning and thought I'd sign up. I've been working in the signage for around 20 years, apprenticed as a fitter and turner but found myself working in a sign shop and never left the industry. There doesn't seem to be many Australians posting in...
