Is there anything special I should know when trying it for the first time?

Well i talked to Stahls (at the Charlotte NC show) and they did not know...plus they were wanting to sell me the cutter they were offering for 7000$ or cut it for me. But I think the Roland can do it.

I am not really sure which topic to put this under so I will give this one a shot. At the company I work for, we also do embroidery. What I was wondering is, since alot of shops do embroidery as well even though this is a sign forum, has anyone tried to use the cutter to cut applique material...

ok, one more question....the versaworks software times out and kills the print when the printer runs out of ink. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

ok thanks, I guess I was just spoiled by the Epon 9600 throwing up a warning light when the inks were getting low.

I have found that the veracamm sp-540v doesnt give you a heads up when ink is getting low, it just stops and says ink is out and what was printed is wasted. Is there such a thing that you can turn on to warn you on the printer or in the versaworks software?

I looked at that when it first started happening and 'no marks' is checked. I believe it is in illustrator..when I go eps from that one particular system the dpi stuff is there. When I go eps from another system, it is gone. The system that runs the printer is a stand alone(off the intranet)...

Versaworks seems to distort and move text if you dont flatten it....the tech recommended we flatten it to avoid this....I also did a test and he is correct.

I have checked each layer and do not see it. I have also checked everywhere I know to look to remove it. It is strange that you cant see it until after it has been flattened and saved as an .eps file. I took the same file to another system with Illustrator 10 and opened it up flattened it and...

I mean lower left hand corner...argh.
