The material was ordered in January 2018, installed shortly thereafter. 8 months later is when I was notified that the material was coming up at the cuts. Ended up restriping the whole vehicle. Crazy thing is... the removal was super smooth, and those of us who have removed reflective knows...
  3. Any issues with Oracal 5600 Colors on vehicles?

I actually have had similar issues. This was on a police car that received gold and black oracal 5600. All of the gold and all of the black peeled back at the edges. You would think with how aggressive the adhesive is, it would stay... but not the case on this car. I called my fellers rep...

Going back to the original question after reading some of these responses... I manage a sign shop currently. Although it's small, only have a few employees and a couple owners above me, but when I was posed to hire someone last year my thought on it was this: I want someone awesome. I'm not...
  10. Need Help What kind of Vinyl is used for Sandblasting.

I used this stuff once... matter of fact I think I still have it from a couple years ago... https://www.uscutter.com/Hartco-425-Series-High-Grip-Sandblast-Mask-Stencil From what I heard it held up ok. Only good for one go-around though. The mil thickness is up there a bit so obviously...
  11. Oracal 751 or 951? Opinions please

751 in my opinion is the way to go... only way I would use 951 for something like this is if they deviate from a color not available in the 751 line. However, parking lot signage should be your standard colors... I would use 751.
  12. Need Help Is there a pre-feed option for FC series plotters?

I use a Graphtec FC8000, you have to tell it to pre-feed, cannot be done inside your production manager. Getting it to prefeed is easy though. Go to Menu / Media Settings / Prefeed Setting... then just tell it how much to feed out. Piece o' cake! (I believe this process will work for the...
  13. Paint coming off of trailer - what to do?

Best practice is to evaluate prior to doing any removal. At our shop we typically look for oxidation ahead of time. If the trailer shows any sign of dusting off, we typically don’t touch it.
