  5. Advertisement and exposure for fairly new biz

Hey, great suggestions. I actually don't have any kids and not many friends with kids so my in with the schools is limited. I am late to the party on the graduation signs and banners but like you said Ill catch the next round. I am pretty good at design...I am not the quickest but my motto has...
  6. Advertisement and exposure for fairly new biz

I agree, I think referrals and word of mouth are king once you get going. I really want to get my name at the school's within a 8 to 10 mile radius of me but I'm not sure if going in person is best or sending an email. Most public spaces like that don't want salesman/businesses just waltzing in...
  7. Advertisement and exposure for fairly new biz

Where did you place the signs? At customer jobs or just public spaces? I was planning like the others above said to go talk to local business owners and leave a flyer with my business card, obviously talk to them and see what they may possibly need in the future. I don't like to do push sales...
  8. Advertisement and exposure for fairly new biz

Thank you to everyone who replied! I knew I needed to hit the pavement and start dropping my name and services around town. Imagine if you will for a moment that the very thought was already planted in my mind and then suddenly a virus messed everything up. I got a new batch of business cards...
  9. Advertisement and exposure for fairly new biz

So I have only been officially active for about 6 months now as a legitimate business and I am curious about what some of all you fine sign folks did to boost your exposure and get your name out there in order to gain more leads. Facebook and google ads only do so much and haven't really...
  10. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

I went ahead and switched out the media and did the same exact squares as the first set on the previous media and they came out essentially perfect...I'm thinking solventinkjet is on to something with the buckling. I'm going to slag off about 6 feet of the other new roll and put a tail on it for...
  11. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

Oh yeah I suppose, alot of business's shut down! I'm fortunate enough to be working my day job yet. But that may change any day now. I can pop the cover and take a look at them but I'll be honest I don't really know how to troubleshoot the dampers. My black ink is getting pretty low, estimate...
  12. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

Wow fast reply! All are under 3 months old and I clean every single day. This literally just started two days ago. Same color, same prints and all of a sudden it appears. Oh, and nozzle check comes out literally perfect. But it should, the head is only 1.5 months old.
  13. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

So my Mimaki cjv30-130 (cmyk) had some problems with contaminated prints which ended up being a combination of small things...now fixed. However, now a new problem arises. Please see the attached photos. I noticed it in some prints that I normaly print with these colors...like a magenta/very...

  15. What does this problem look like to you?

It ended up being a combination of several things. Dirty encoder strip, static and the main carriage belt. All better now. Thanks to everybody that posted a tip! Hopefully this thread helps somebody in the future too.
  16. What does this problem look like to you?

I'm actually starting to wonder if this is happening. I think you have confirmed my suspicions. I know for a fact the media was free of static and dust on my last run and I still got contaminates. I'm going to have to talk to my printer guy and see if this has happend before. The machine is 9...
  17. What does this problem look like to you?

I think so too at this point. Trying to eliminate the problem but I'm already a clean freak
  18. What does this problem look like to you?

Yes the photos were printed at the same settings and same media. I can't find any issues in either of them (one at 12 pass and one at 24) I used a new swifter duster and then hit it with a tac cloth, just rubbing it lightly with no pressure. It's just strange that the spot colors are having...
  19. What does this problem look like to you?

I'll give it a shot but my only other thought is that the roll is contaminated. But for kicks I printed a high quality photo and it printed just fine with no defects. So now I'm wondering if it's the color management...
  20. What does this problem look like to you?

Hey everybody I appreciate the help on this. I've never encountered it this bad before.... I tried upping the heat to 40 40 50 and did 24 pass and it actually made it worse. Also precleaned the media and dusted it with a swifter in one direction before printing. It looks almost like a bit of...
