  1. Versaworks 4.8 printing "white" when I don't have white ink

Go to the color settings page in your Queue default settings where you pick your profile. Down at the bottom, you'll see color management settings. Click on advanced and look for "Preserve Primary Colors"
  2. Summa T160 ripping cuts

Is the plotter set to the tangential blade or the swivel blade?
  3. Fluorescent colors/ink eco solvent

Fluorescent Pigments have never worked well outdoors. They work by taking UV light and converting it to visible light to make the pigments pop. There's only so much converting that can be packed into a pigment, then it stops boosting the color and your left with a faded graphic. Even indoors...
  4. Suggestions Upgrading one of my plotters. Graphtec or Summa?

Well, running faster usually means that you're going to loose accuracy. I wouldn't rely on specs to tell you how fast you can cut "your work" That's just a number as to how fast they'll let their motors spin. I don't think much has changed in either machine as far as the X-drive components, so...
  5. Suggestions Upgrading one of my plotters. Graphtec or Summa?

It sounds like you kind of answered your own question. Your primary criteria is tracking over long distance and your experience with the two plotters shows that the Graphtec tracks better. I don't know how small you need to cut, but (just to show what it can do, not because I would recommend...
  6. New membership - small time printer :-)

I would say that calling it a "Demo" printer is misleading. I've been responsible for may demo printers in my career and unless we were printing samples to hand out at a trade show, they would not even run a full roll. We typically kept them for 6 months to a year (the time frame is usually...
  7. Polycrete expansion foam

I used it when replacing a rotted fence post. It's the Latch side of a gate. It was probably 10 years ago when I first heard of the stuff. The post is still solid, even after years of the gate slamming closed on it.
  8. Bought Used Gerber Edge, Connection/Communication Cable Trouble

You can only run one Edge at a time via USB on a computer. You're likely confusing the ports. Try unplugging the Edge 2 and see if the Edge 1 will work.
  9. Roland BN-20 Service application

The service app requires a code from Roland that is tied to the serial number and good for three days. You'll have to work with a Roland tech for that.
  10. print/cut alignment driving me crazy

I think there is a feed encoder disk on this printer that you can try cleaning. Also, if your black nozzle test isn't perfect at the ends it will throw your feed calibration off. More luck
  11. print/cut alignment driving me crazy

You can just buy 2 left ones and switch turn the pinch wheel around so the dot is on the outside. No other difference. Good luck
  12. Roland sp540i error code 0080

When I see scan motor errors, I always try cleaning the encoder strip first. Use an alcohol wipe or a lint free cloth with isopropyl alcohol. Costs nothing and more often than not solves the problem, especially if it errors out in the same area every time. Good luck
  13. Graphtec 8600-160 Blade arm not engaging

It's not unusual for the sheet cut blade to interfere with the pen block if it doesn't reset normally. As JB said, take a pen or pencil and push it in the left side of the carrage and make sure that the plunger is out (to the left). With the power off, can you move the tool holder up and...
  14. Possible to skip Laminate when printing with overcoat?

It probably depends on the life expectancy of the print. If it's for a weekend promotional, you could probably get by without the laminate, but if the bus will be washed with the print on, it needs to be laminated. Overcoat is not a replacement otherwise no one would put laminate on vehicle...
  15. How do you get Adobe Filters to work in Flexi?

Yes it is in the Adobe program folder.
  16. Printer Technician

They also have to pay that tech $50 per hour when he's not doing billable work as well, so they're not pocketing the rest. They're investing it in a system that supports their customers. Do they bill you for the time spent on the phone trying to figure out what's wrong before they come onsite...
  17. VersaWorks upgrade to new Windows 10 computer

Versaworks 6 will not run the SPv series. You'll need to continue using VW5.
  18. Rise of the Machines - AI Vector Tracing is coming for our Bitmaps!

That's a long way from the old Gerber digitizing tablet that I mastered years ago. With the Numonics tablet and 4 button puck. I'm feeling old now...
  19. Puddle of ink around cap top ?

I've never used anything but OEM, so I can't tell you what the difference is. I've seen many reports on this forum from members that I trust that say there is a difference. If you've had good luck with them, that's great. It may be an application issue. I've never had a problem with OEM cap...
