OK... I'm not going to go read the "25 things" thread from January... but I'll try to think up new ones...

1. 1973: The first paid gig playing drums was opening for a local rock band at the high school, when my band were all still in Jr. H.S. and I remember calculating out my pay as $1.87/ minute which felt like we hit the big time!!
   
   
2. 1979: I married my first love, who I met at a Grateful Dead concert. Our daughter is now 29 & is an awesome source of pride - even if I didn't have that much to do with it (that marriage lasted 5 years & I'm remarried now for 8 years)
   
   
3. 1982: I spent 2 months in Peru, ran out of money & kept traveling by sitting in the streets learning to make & sell traditional Peruvian jewelry.
   
   
4. 1989: I hitch hiked into NYC with a $100 and a girls phone number. I stayed 15 months, made $30K & found my calling in the sign business
   
   
5. 1998: on my 39th birthday, I decided 25 years of daily consumption of copious quantities of kind bud, and an equally excessive & increasing appetite for premium micro-brewed beer, was a habit i needed to break, so I took a one year abstinence... cold turkey as they say, no cheating, no problem... and I broke my fast on my 40th birthday! I know I've told this story here before... but don't let the term "short term memory loss" fool you... it's forever

i am a voracious reader (i would guess i read approx. 8-12 books a month). i love my kindle and can not imagine my life without it..having replaced 4 this year because of my 2yr old daughter...

I spent a week in a coma due to meningitis which left me deaf in one ear.
