Another Oddball Customer Request

My customer owns a preschool and they are not allow to use push-pins, they can only use staples. She is wanting large bulletin boards that she can continuously staple, pull off, staple, pull off and on & on. She already has cork board but was hoping for something better. I thought of a self healing mat but she didn't think that would work either. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for taking the time.

Try mounting removable wall fabric to something with the adhesive side out. Then it leaves a sticky surface with that repositionable adhesive they can just stick stuff to and easily remove.

Cheap marine carpeting from your local hardware, lightly glued to foamboard works well. Holds well and easy to get the staples out.

If push pins aren't allowed, for safety reasons - I am surprised they will allow staples, for the same reason.

I'd go for velcro or magnetic

Be careful with magnets and kids

I will see what she says, thank you for the suggestion :)

I agree that the suggestion is a good one however you should be careful to make sure the magnets are not too small. Because big problems can happen if children accidentally ingest them. In 2012 there was a company making a product called BuckyBalls that was basically forced out of business by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) because of safety concerns for children. Here is a link with more details http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/07/25/us-usa-buckyballs-idUSBRE86O1LN20120725 . You can probably get around the issue by using large magnets that are way too big to swallow. I would think the ones used for holding vinyl in place for vehicle wraps could work. I hope this is helpful.
