Does anyone have the new roland VersaUV 64" flat bed? do you love it? would you have gotten something else? we are looking to make a jump in to the flatbed printing at some point and thought this might be a good machine to start with. Our roland sale guy was here again and showed some really nice prints on clear acrylic using this machine

we did purchase one and it's shipping tomorrow so i should have it early next week and hopefully be set up and trained by the end of the week.
i think you have to first find the machine that works for what you want to do then you have to find the one that does what you want and you can afford. the main thing we will be printing is polycarbonate(.010 to .030 thick) also polyester/mylar roll materials we mainly have to start getting small run jobs and multicolor jobs out of the silk screen depart. and any large rigid jobs we get are bonus but we don't do a lot of this so i don't think the pinch rollers will cause us too many problems

we saw a demo and also got samples from roland and we were happy with what we saw. originally we looked at agfa machines just couldn't afford them and then almost got the rastek but that fell through for some reason and also still border line on what we could afford. the other thing is we have 2 other roland machines so we are familar with the software also on the roll materials we can print uv and then put in the vp or xc and cut

We do alot of prints on clear applied to acrylic, so we wanted to cut the vinyl out of the equation, and also we were hoping to wholesale yard signs

that is kind of where we are at. we have done some of these jobs on our solvent machines but it gets to me too much mounting and laminating to be cost effective
but as soon as we get going i will start posting some reviews
