Are you glad to see this year go??

Hey all. Just wondering if everyone is as ready to see '09 go by the wayside as I am. Sales are about half of what they should have been, clients (even established customers) are way more cautious about spending money and EVERYBODY is price shopping.

Hope everyone has a great TWENTYTEN or TWOTHOUSAND TEN, whichever pronunciation you prefer.

How 'bout them DAWGS!!

Good riddance! The last 18 mo.s have been among the worst of my life. And
that is before factoring in the economic crash.

I'm only glad to see another year of my life disappear because January 1st means I only have 5 more payments to make to own everthing in my shop and the business itself outright!

That pile of garbage in the corner? All mine! Those rusted sawblades? Yeah baby, mine!

Woo hoo!

That's cool Pat... definitely something to smile about.

2009 was good for me... not sorry to see it go, but not knockin' it either.

Now...that is funny. :ROFLMAO:

Thinking the same thing to myself just the other day.

It's already 2010 here...nothing much has changed, watched a $5million fireworks display over Sydney Harbour ...still smell the smoke.

2009 was pretty good for me. I survived!
I really don't expect much change next year though, just like the past 20 years.
It will be just another year of Political and Health Care promises. "yawn"

Excited about what 2010 will bring. Last half of 09 was our best six months since starting in March of 06. Like Pat we will have our last payment on our Zund 215 in February. I may even have a drink that night.

'09 was our worst year in a long time. Half of last year. I really don't know
how we managed to keep the doors open. I can't say I'm glad to see time
pass. I have been fairly healthy and so has the family, so I'm thankful for
that. Have a Happy New Year All!

I think 2009 was good for many reasons.....No, not the 25% less in gross sales......But because of how things were going I found ways to work smarter.....Yes I know that cliche is worn out but it still remains true.....I was forced to works leads harder, keep in touch with clients and appreciate them more....I found out more about my clients needs so I could serve them better now and in the future....

Sad to say many competitors did not make it through the year..But for those of that did survive, 2010 will bring us great opportunities....There will be more work and less folks to do it.....

And to start 2010 off on the right track there are a few things you can do....
- Dig out your client files and send everyone a hand written thank you card for their patronage in 2009....
- Set up a Constant Contact list and dig through your client files and ask your clients to join your list....
- Make a marketing plan.....This does not have to be long or complicated....Just a guideline.....Or you can go all out and do a complete business plan...
- Ask harder for referrals and testimonials.....

Happy New Year to everyone.....And good luck with 2010....It will only be what you make it.....

I did it and it worked great.

I have no care about seeing the year go. Every thing is going up for me. I got my first real paycheck from the bizz last month. Looks like no more fed or state aid next year. I see nothing but upswing for my bizz. And my health is good. And my kids are doing well.

I guess when you are starting over any improvement and every thing else looks good.

Financially 2009 pretty much sucked. I did finish paying for some things, and it was enough to make the amount less I made a wash, but still sucked. Some things were good, though. I got engaged, my band recorded a CD and the Packers are in the playoffs. :) Goodbye 2009 - I don't think I'm going to miss you very much. Hello 2010 - you sort of scare me.
