Backglass defrost burned out?

I just got a call from a lady who I put vinyl lettering on her backglass on a Kia Soul about 4 or 5 months ago. She called yelling at me because her backglass defrost is not working and she was told it was because of the vinyl I put on her window. She went on and on about how could I do something like this to damage her brand new car.

Long story short, she says she is going to sue me for damage to her car.

Fist off I have never heard or seen where vinyl can damage the defroster when applied to the outside. I have seen where it has damaged on the inside before, but usually that came when the person removed the vinyl and scratched the hell out of the heating element.

I am not really worried about her suing me, just curious to see if anyone else has heard this before?

Burden of proof would be on her and I doubt she can prove exterior vinyl made her defroster stop working when it's not even remotely affecting it or in contact with it.

Ha. Yeah takes all kinds to make the world spin. Were the windows tinted? Window tinters are notorious for jacking up the defroster. You may want to point out the lettering is on the outside and the wires are on the inside. There are sesame st. videos to help if she has difficulty understanding inside vs. outside.

WTF! This lady is a fricken idiot.

She just showed up wanting me to see that it is broken.

First of all, it is 70 degrees out. How the hell am I going to see that it is broken with out, you know, frost on it.

Second, She just told me that the window was just replaced because a rock broke it. :banghead::banghead: I could only imagine my expression when she told me that. It took everything in my power not to say something like "you are fricken idiot"

Third, the idiot who replace the glass didnt connect the rear defrost cable to the window.

For some reason, even before I looked at the car and found the actual reason it wasnt working, she couldn't understand why it is not my fault. I said how could i have caused the problem if this is the first time I have seen the car with the new glass. She rambled on that my vinyl caused the whole system not to work. :banghead:

I attached the cable to the glass and explained what was wrong and she still left here mad at me like I did something wrong.

I think she was in my shop a while back. I put her name on the drivers side window and her bo's name on the passenger side window. After about an hour she came back complaining that the name on the drivers side read from front to the back of the car but on passenger side read from the back to the front and she wanted both of them to start at the front and go to the back. I tried everything to explain it to her including a sketch. She said "well I have had it done befo and they dit it rite. I could not stop laughing at her and told her to leave.

Should have told her to start the car put it in gear with a brick on the brake with a rope attached, & one on the gas then stand in front of the car and read it while pulling the rope (no more problem)

Well, sounds like she has bigger problems. Should've left the shrimp.

I think I was just dumbfounded by her reaction that I was still the one to blame.

oh well. Hopefully its the last time I have to deal with her.
