Banner job from h#ll

Simple 3x8 banner, printed one side. Got a pdf from the "designer" so I simply set it on a 3x8 and sent back a proof....the color is not correct...it is the same file they sent me. Next can we see a 3x6, I tell them the design will look squeezed, they want to see it anyway....the respond, the logo looks squezed, what did you do to it....now the "designer" is concerned that "cut vinyl" won't work on the banner...I only print banners, so not sure what she is talking about.

Sorry for the rant, I e-mailed them to tell them I am no longer interested in doing this project. Now they keep e-mailing me wanting me to do it cause the "designer" wants twice as much as I was going to charge....

ya ever hear of "scale proportionate"? So ya have a little room on the sides

I did that first, the "designer" thought there was too much dead space top and bottom then...I would like to wring "the designer's" neck!!!

If your customer has a designer ... Tell the designer to scale and adjust to whatever they want to try .. That's not your job .. You are just The Printer

Why I like hand painting signs.

Customer sees my work I've done. Has a good idea of what can be done, my cost is low.

If I make errors, can be corrected without a song & a dance just extra time.

But then again banners are rarely done any more since the sign printers have butchered prices, mostly get them only when they can not do the job correctly.

Quit buggin' me
This is how I picture Mosh waiting for the banner customer to show up at his shop.....

ARGH!! I feel for you buddy! Recently had a similar but equally painful banner.. Just pass on it and tell them thanks but no thanks. Good luck

I had printed a banner for a designer (wholesale customer that does offset printing). The colors would not print even close to what it was suppose to be, looked good on screen, just was way off when printed. until i opened the pdf file in photoshop and saved it as a psd. Also there was red hearts on the banner and they printed black?! weird stuff

I've just started asking "designers" for jpg's of tiff's, to scale at 125-150 ppi.
So when they ask, "can you fix the color ?", I say I can't, but their "designer" can.
Also, can't change the layout.
If I'm not getting the money to design, I try to make it as easy on myself as possible.
