I saw that on Saturday and was in awe. I have a background running CNC machines and not only is the machine itself impressive but I'm blown away by the programming required to produce that.

i have a customer who has a laser prototyping machine that does similar stuff but out of a block of plastic
i saw it make a small model bicycle with moving wheels and pedals
