Cutawl Project

[Arlo Kalon 2.0]

There have been a few threads recently mentioning Cutawls. I thought I'd post this little project of an interior decor piece that was done with my K-11 Cutawl. The pieces were cut out like a jigsaw puzzle and inlaid into a background also cut like a jigsaw. A Dremel tool was used to round the pieces off. I'm thinking of doing a series of these to sell to restaurants (this one would be great for a steakhouse). I'm working up designs for the type of signs you see in Red Lobster restaurants too with fish cutouts.

Western red cedar boards. This was all done with long chisel blades in the Cutawl.

Thanks. A Cutawl is the only power tool I can get into a zone with much the same as hand lettering. They are just amazing to work with. Obviously a CNC machine can do what I did, but there's no fun in that.
