double sided foam tape?

Got a customer whom is using 3M double sided foam tape for interior signs, they now are going to be installing onto glass and are concerned that the tape can bee seen on the other side of the glass.

Not a problem told them about using doubled sided optically clear VHB tape, they are concerned it will not work since it is not FOAM tape. Have never seen/heard of optically clear double sided foam tape, and none of my supplies offer it but figured someone may have the 411 if its available.

Thanks

Put a piece of vinyl on the other side of the glass to hide anything objectionable on the front side of the glass, such as the tape you are proposing.

i have used the clear vhb for small aluminum signs on glass with no issues. can't tell you how well it holds up with heavier signs give 3m a call

Since they are concerned about it being foam tape or not..... many of the VHB tapes mentioned here won't have a problem holding to the glass, but from what are the signs made ?? Things like 4910 and some of the others won't do well with pvc or foam letters. Aluminum or metal are just fine.

agree. even if it is clear, you still will see something. I do signs on glass for a major national finacial firm and what we have to do for them is to cut a piece of vinyl the same size as the sign and apply it to the other side of the glass so it looks clean from both sides.
