Email orders from oversees?

Just wondering if everyone gets these emails for large banner orders. They typically start with "Dear sir/madam" asking for quote on banners. Then the specs and whether what form of payment we take. I answered one for the hell of it one time and when they wanted oversees shipping I "kindly" backed out.
Seems like a sham so I am just wondering what the end game is lol! How does the scam work? Just curious as the old saying goes " if it sounds too good to be true...."

they work because you pay the shipping agent when he comes by to pick up the order.

think about it, why would someone a half a world away contact a company in Grand Rapids for banners? of course it is a scam, what else could it be?

from what I gather, you make the banners and when THEIR shipping company comes to pick it up, YOU have to pay the shipping, which is then 'reimbursed' by the good reverend
