I just have to ask, why did you shut the business down? dont you have people capable of running it for a day or two while you are gone? Sorry for your loss.
Yes, back then we had people to cover and today we still do. However, as I said before, I gave the guys the option of staying and working..... or taking the rest of the day off
WITH pay. There was nothing pending or desperately needed to be done. That much I knew. I just didn't want to hear phones ringing, people talking to me when I knew I couldn't or wouldn't be able to concentrate, let alone do anything constructive.
I totally understand bayshore's predicament. I think whoever he was dealing with handled things rather poorly and it was a good business decision on his end to make things right for his company and move forward.
Whenever something goes wrong.... for
ANY reason; deaths, storms, uncontrollable situations beyond your capabilities or just poor planning on your part.... one always needs to inject the S.H.I.T. factor from the giddyap. Eventually it becomes known as Murphy's Law, or as others know it by The School of Hard Knocks.
It sounds like bayshore planned for this by giving himself some extra time to get things accomplished, but for some people if things are held up one day, they are playing the game by the seat of their pants and have no room for error, regardless of how it rears it's ugly head. Therefore, when all Hell breaks loose and the whole deal crumbles.... that is not a vendor's problem if you can't plan properly.
We had one recently wholesaling to someone here at s101 and after some stressing times and experimenting, we all came out smelling like a rose. The customer had planned and put things into motion, we were thrown all kinds of curves and when things looked like they were about to go completely south.... a vendor of ours saved the day and pulled a rabbit out of his hat. All ended well and I must say, I think we all appreciate each others efforts even more after we all realized how helping each other and talking with the end-user made all the difference.... unlike bayshore's vendor.
