I have been working all day in flexi. All of a sudden I try to open a file and flexi crashes. I re open flexi and try to open a "NEW" page and it crashes. This just happens out of the blue as it was all great today. I shut down computer and restarted, same issues. Any ideas? Thanks

Check if any windows updates got installed. Unplug every device you can, usb drives, etc. Try running MSCONFIG and selecting "diagnostic startup" reboot and try to run Flexi.

Thats the latest updates. So far the other features work in the program. Just the ones I came across and mentioned crash it.

It wouldn’t hurt to look in event viewer and see what logs show
look for flexi or SAI.
if nothing watch the clock, start the program or open your file right at 9pm for instance.
then go back and look for 9pm log entries

also, wouldn’t hurt to restart pc & open the program with a right click>run as administrator
i have seen Microsoft play lots of stupid games with our settings in windows update

Ive had the same issue with Flexi. Best thing to do is have them remote into your PC. I had them working on mine almost weekly. Each time Flexi techs blame it on something else then throw their hands up. Last time they told me that I had too many nodes for Flexi and it crashed, yet Corel, Adobe and Serif have no issue with them. This is a pain to the point, Im looking at other software.
Personally as someone who's built pcs since Win 95, I think Flexi has compatibility issue with certain graphics cards.

Anytime Flexi becomes unstable like this it is normally best to clear preferences. We created the video at the below link to walk you thru clearing preferences in Flexi.

Just one warning, clearing preferences deletes the below information from Flexi and Production Manager and it will not be recoverable. Only do this as a last resort, especially if you have unfinished jobs in production manager that you need.

Jobs in Production Manager for all Devices.
Default job properties for the device drivers, it is best to take screen shots or write them down.
Device Drivers in Production Manager for all Devices (it keeps any profiles so you will not loose them).
Any customization to the Flexi Design Window.

That didnt work for me including clearing preferences, and tech even removed and reinstalled multiple times. At 1 point, tech installed an older version for me till they figured it out on their end.

As computers and software have advanced, diagnosing and fixing these issues have become incredibly complicated. Without seeing what Flexi was doing on your system it is hard to say what the cause was. Based on what you have said it could be a bunch of things. Did the Flexi techs take your files and try it on their system? If they did and it worked on their systems with the same build of Flexi then there is either some corruption on the computer, a program installed interfering with Flexi, hardware issues with that system or even a mix of all three that is interfering with Flexi. Or there could just be a bug in Flexi and your workflow is just different enough that doesn't happen normally and they haven't seen it before. The first thing I do whenever there is any weird issues with Flexi is try to reproduce the issue as closely as possible on another system. If I can reproduce it then it is normally a bug and something that the programmers at SAi should be able to track down.

I have had customer's computers with damaged Windows install cause Flexi 64-bit to crash as it was opening, the Flexi design window didn't even fully load before it would crash and it would give a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error. Both Production Manager 64-bit and 32-bit and the 32-bit version of Flexi on that same system worked fine. That customer had multiple computers all with the same version of Flexi and it was only this on one system. They eventually updated that computer due to its age and the issue went away.

They will not help me as im on flexi 11. This computer is 3 yrs old since built. It's always ran good except for the occasional crash here and there like everyone has.

You could try creating a new user account in windows, and see if that works. You might have had some type of windows permissions error happen. Or try some windows permission error fixer tool.

I dont think its a windows issue, more of a software since im still able to run jobs and such. Im going to try to reset the program soon as I can get caught up on orders.
