About what? Not getting a good print is a wide spectrum of a complaint.
Please describe what you mean by not getting good prints...

Is the gradient banded? Is it not gradient enuf? is it blocky?

One thing I can think off that would cause colors to skew is gradient color mode. If you are using RGB colors to make up the gradient, set the gradient to RGB. If you are using a CMYK palette, make sure the gradient mode is set to CMYK. Flexi defaults to RGB.

I don't know if this is the specific issue you are having, but I'll throw it out there anyways.

Give us some more info on you're problem. Also, I assume you are using Flexi's RIP? Was the gradient also designed in Flexi?

gradient pring problem...

it's not gradient enough...you hit it right on the button....too blocky plus there are lines....now that's might just need pitch adjustment...

Try some different diffusion methods in Production Manager. That always worked for me when I had trouble with gradients.

You need to lower your lpi when printing gradients to eliminate banding and have smoother blends.

You can also try reducing the line frequency of the screen in Flexi's RIP, sometimes gradients will print smoother if you print at 300 DPI as opposed to 600 DPI, I also recommend changing the rendering intents in Flexi's RIP from their default settings
change - Vector Graphics from relative colormetric to spot color
change - Bitmap Images from perceptual to relative colormetric
I have also achieved much better print results on my PC-600 using the output profiles downloaded from the Roland website (support section) over the ones provided with Flexi.
You can find a wealth of info on these older printers in the Roland forum archives, all this stuff was thouroughly discussed in detail several years past.
