Floor Clings?

Bigdawg

Just Me
We have to do a job with floor clings - not floor vinyl with heavy duty non-slip lam - floor clings. I have no clue what the material is, but here is how it was described. Does anyone have any idea as to what material to use?

*No adhesive back - a true "cling" cling like we use on the windows, but with a non-slip surface.

These go down for about a month or two and then change out. Most of the time they come from the corporate office, so we have no way to get a material spec. Would appreciate any help!

Would that even be considered safe for commercial use ?? Sounds a bit too slippery to me.

have they shown you a sample? try calling Gregory as they have a lot of materials from wall paper to just about anything else that's printable, they might know what this is

Thanks Guys...

I think we are going to recommend low tack vinyl. Normally we laminate floor graphics with a UL listed slip resistant lam, but I don't think I can do that on clings. She swears what she is using has no adhesive. We are picking up a sample tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip on Gregory Marlene - I had not heard of them before!

i bet it's just a rigid poster print with textured lam thrown on the floor. I've come across that before in requests...

Stacy, Marcel Medved, Asphalt Art just sent out an email with a product announcement that may work for you. The product name is TEX WALK and his email address is mmedved@asphaltartusa.com

Tex Walk is nice. It is similar to a Phototex type product with a textured surface.
Another sample that I have on hand sounds similar to what you are looking for. It is called Floorflex and is made by Ultraflex. It is a thicker material. The rep told me that in larger pieces it doesn't need an adhesive to keep it in place, but I wouldn't count on it. If I were going to use it I would at least put a strip of double-sided adhesive around the perimeter.

42oz?!? looks like a printable linoleum to me.

did they give you a reason why they don't want an adhesive product? We usually use a vinyl with a removable adhesive, laminated with a non-slip laminate, it always removes nice and clean after a few months.

nazdar has a material called polypro it's part of their image star line. it's similar to a fat head type material. not sure how it would work on floors but it's a low tac to the touch and repositionable, works great on glass and walls. maybe that would do the trick but i would be concerned with the safety issue.
