I have a GS6000 that I've run mostly trouble free for over 5 years. The black channel started going out a few months ago and before researching it, I purchased Epson's cleaning cartridges and ran a headwash on the black channel. The black channel got worse as I now understand this has happened to a lot of people.
1) I've read that I can install an inline ink filter to help stop the junk ink from collecting in the printhead. (What is the part number?)
2) Should I try removing the printhead and sucking out the ink and then running in a basic ultrasonic cleaner with solution?
3) If it's worth trying to clean the head would someone please give the detailed method to do it?
4) If I remove/clean or replace the printhead will I need software to realign the heads? If so would someone send it to me?
5) I've considered swapping reader chips from a black ink tank over to a cleaning cartridge and running it till it runs clear. Is this a bad idea?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
