I had high hopes for the Fellers Black Label line. As the guy who does almost all of our ordering, I keep an eye out for any way I can save us a couple of bucks, and I was initially drawn in by the price. Considering that Fellers was literally printing their name on the product, I decided it was worth a shot. We started ordering their calendared vinyl and eventually I started ordering some of the cast. I like the stiffness of the backing paper and once the calendared stuff got to the table, I found that it went on clean with no problems with bubbles. I thought that it was going to work great and save us money.
As time went on, my installers complained about the cast's adhesion; they just didn't like how it went onto cars. I wasn't happy, but if they really didn't like it and there was a quality issue, it's not worth any amount of savings. So, we went back to the expensive stuff.
Today, the boss came in and said that Fellers Black label stuff has been having a lot of problems nationally. Things have been peeling off, specifically lamination not sticking to the material. Both cast and calendared have had major issues. Boss is going to call Fellers to get credit, because more than one of our jobs is starting to fail.
I'd suggest steering clear of Fellers Black label until they can get this resolved.
