Hello, I work for a garage door company in northern California, and I'm trying my hands on sign making (just a jigsaw and router) mainly for friends and family. I can get a lot of MDO cutoffs that are about 24"x48" that I use. The garage doors we make use the MDO as a base layer, the overlay design out of ExTerra. Recently I have been seeing bubbles develop on the MDO on doors we have sitting on racks in our warehouse and on customers' homes. Is it just a poor batch of MDO? We find some bubbles we can fix but they seem to pop up over a little bit of time. I don't want to have to spend time on my signs if it's just going to bubble on me, I have done some research and couldn't find anything retaining to the issue. Thank you and look forward to new experience and your guy's wisdom!!

Depends on the manufacturer and what grade he's selling to your company. The cheaper grades have more patches and footballs under the top layer, while some use a plastic final layer. I have a supplier that was getting their MDO from finland. Great price and was like painting on satin glass. When I first started buying MDO, it was all called duraply and was $23.00 for a 1/2" 4' x 8' double sided sheet. Even if we were doing a single sided sign, we used the double sided stuff.
