$80 / gal is DIRT CHEAP! I think that's about what we spend for a couple of 100cc Mimaki bottles of cleaner (comes out to $1500 or so / gal). We had cleaning cartridges laying around, 220cc for $50, so I cut them open and poured into cleaning solution bottles...
Anyway; If you have a gallon it will last 10 years. No, Windex will not clean your printer, but I am sure the people selling print heads hope you'll try
