I cannot re-install a Mutoh ultima cutter driver because the old one will not allow me to completely remove it. :banghead:
(It got corrupted trying to fix another port problem)

I found the registry entry but the registry editor will not allow me to delete it? Any ideas??

what part can't you delete.. can you work up from the lowest folder?

First make sure its turned off in the windows task manager. If its off the it will delete. If its running anywhare it may not delete.

Copy the reg key location then reboot in safe mode and remove it. There may be something running you aren't aware of keeping the key locked.

no part of it. Although I deleted other items. Only stuff pertaining to this driver.

First make sure its turned off in the windows task manager. If its off the it will delete. If its running anywhare it may not delete.

Good idea!

Good idea .. kinda reinforces what GK said. But never thought of safe mode :thumb:
As soon as this print is finished (note: printer works fine.. thank God) gonna try it.

Will keep you(s) posted..

Thanks for the quick replies!

Do some searching around on the internet for a program called RegCleaner, it will search the registry for keys that aren't specifically named program XXXX, but are related to program XXXX. Its quite old and doesn't always work properly, but its one of the safest registry cleaners I've found.

Once you get all that stuff out of hte registry, I'd suggest using Revo Uninstaller to officially uninstall future programs, it will automatically search and destroy all keys associated with the program.

You'd be surprised just how much crap is left behind in the registry when you do a normal uninstall of most software out there!

******UPDATE******

The 'not deleting' in registry was caused by permission status on the individual entries. (hence the pro in XP pro)
So that problem's solved, but I need to find the actual key that the uninstaller is missing.

Flyin and Pmg... I may have to try a product like that ... only thing with these proprietary softwares is that they often don't play by the rules.

Both my cutters not working.... arrgg

But thanks all for the help... Let you know what happens.
